Brog86 eBay have the clear stomp grips for £40. Two points, make sure your tank is clean and make sure your hands are clean. Left dirty finger prints on mine so I've bitten the bullet and bought another set to re do it. ive also seen a lot of noise about the Superpole racing seat, £200 would have to be great.
Cheers, I made a right mess of putting the stomp grip on my gsxr, bubbles everywhere but I rushed it a bit.
Superpole seat was the answer for me, you say you are "lanky" (I'm 6'6") so it even gives your legs a little more comfort.
Blimey, fellow former ZXR750 owners on the forum, I had an H1 & a K. Anyway back on topic, had a technosel seat on my 916 & had thought of a DP seat for my (new to me) 848, now I'm considering the DP super pole seat, for the raised seat height & the way the seat comes up the tank. Would be interested in others thoughts/experience?
Must be a shared desire of ZXR owners to move onwards and upwards! Best price and site for a new seat would also be good if you know them!
Sliding is a necessity but keeping the weight off the bars and balls is also required! That's why Velcro and Duct Tape are not options!
I can recommend the Superpole seat, picked it up for this very reason and it's worked a treat for me so far. Does add a little height to the seated position but that's not such a bad thing if you are tall.
Ordered a fresh set of stop grips, so will run the smaller strips on the under tank fairing, test ride and see how much that helps. (Pics to follow if I can get them on cleanly) Failing that it looks like the super pole seat is the next option
I got mine from JHP in Coventry. If I remember correctly they popped it on the bike so I try it first, just to be sure it was what I was after.
I had Sargent seat and it was much more comfy and better shaped but it was still a bit slippery. I have Ducati Performance seat for sale if anyone is interested (unless it sells on eBay in the next 3 hours) - same shape and padding but it gives you much more grip.
Presuming you're only braking hard into a corner, start leaning off the bike sooner, using you're knee and inner thigh more. Or, when i was only interested in going fast, i had an inch of foam duct taped to the back of my tank, sure it looked terrible, but it worked.

Funkyrimpler that's Grimm! But a lesson to tuck yourself in properly and not to get too excited while riding!
