I'm currently addicted to one of the classic cocktails, the Negroni... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negroni Equal parts Gin, sweet Vermouth and Campari. Over ice, with a twist of orange peel. It's kind-of bitter, a challenging taste but one well worth acquiring.
Caipiroska Chop up 2/3 of a lime and put in a short wide tumbler with 2 big teaspoons of gran sugar (cane if you can get it). Pulp the lime with a wooden pestle, so the juice combines with the sugar (don't remove the lime solids). Add a medium handfull of crushed ice. Pour in generous Vodka (prob at least a quad shot). Stir and drink through a straw. Big in Brasil. 2 is enough. #3 is a doozy and #4 can cost you most of the next day (ask me how I know  )
Today I have drunk Peroni, Red Wine, redcurrant Vodka, Baileys and JD and coke ! Not sure what you call it though ? Might add another to the mix yet !
Someting I was given when I worked in Adelaide in South Australia back in the late 70s - a Sloe Comfortable Screw against the Wall. Sloe gin, southern comfort, vodka, fresh orange juice and Galeano. The bar limited customers to two as it was about 2.5 to 3 fluid ounces of alcohol diluted with a small bottle of orange juice. I only remember them tasting nice although I don't remember much of the next day. Andy
I drink Jamaican punch Double dark rum Good big slug of condensed milk top up with draught Guinness . Whizz it up . Looks like choc milk shake . Tastes lovely .
Not that keen on cocktails usually a bit sweet and sickly, I do like a Vodka Martini though, nice quick way to get completely smashed, best I've tasted are from The Duke Of Cambridge in Little Clarendon Street, Oxford.
