  2. Yes! Well done I was about to start looking on the photos for a tag.

  3. How different are they to a standard 1098 to ride? Quite a lot from what i have read elsewhere.

  9. It's just been re-listed according to my eBay notifications ?

  10. Took them 2 months to take mine off once sold.

  11. Unfortunately, I am not buying the bike. I have asked for my deposit back.
They said the paint was factory when I saw it so I was happier that it was not a crashed bike. When this forum said no, I got concerned. I thought they might have confused factory with dealer painted as the dealer had done a number of from new paints which would have been fine. Unfortunately, it was not dealer paint either, infact when I was calling the dealer about the paint I was advised the bike had a very big off at 4600 miles. The Ducati dealer knew the bike well over the years and said insurance rebuilt it not them. The bike has been in two different colour schemes, one after the crash, according to the guys who have serviced it.
It remains to be seen if JemSpeed will return my deposit (£1000) without my next door neighbour (a solicitor) chasing it for me.
JemSpeed said they will send a cheque less £125 'administration fee' - I will keep you posted on this.
The owner was not pleasant, he claimed that in the 12 hours since I put the deposit down he had lost two buyers... not convinced myself, he said 90% of secondhand bikes on the road have been crashed. Perhaps for the bikes he looks at, but I go to a dealer hoping for a better than 10% chance of a crashed bike that needed insurance intervention. Really when he stocks Ducatis I would have thought an amicable resolution would have been everyones interests for his business and me as a customer, but he simply said he said he did not care what I said online. Fair enough.
Feeling a bit down, but also a bit fortunate to have avoided the bike. I think in future I will just have to save longer and buy from a Ducati dealer.
I will see how JemSpeed deal with my £1000.

  12. That's a really sad outcome J2 and even if the experience does cost you £125 (I agree it shoudn't) then it's a better outcome than owning it 6 months before discovering that it was a damage repair.

Fat chance of selling it to anyone on here.

  13. Did the insurance rebuild not show on an HPI check?
Not a good experience but at least you didn't find out when it was too late and you had bought it.

  14. You don't have to buy from a dealer decent bikes come up privately just a case of getting your finances in place ready for when they do . Tbh £12000 from a dealer is cheap so always likely to have some negative history . There is I believe a top example available on here all be it £15000

  15. Didn't someone have problems with a street fighter from the same place?

  16. Very unfortunate and a bit sad. Like others have said, at least you found out in time. A good one will come along soon enough.

  17. I'd be insisting on a full refund. They haven't told you it had previously been crash damaged before you placed your deposit. Administration fee, my a**e, Hit them with a bill for your time.

90% of used bikes have been crashed ! Where does that data come from?

  18. Oh no that's sad news but thankfully you have found out now
I would be inviting them to trading standards and the small claims court if they are wanting to take admin fees
They knew what was being sold so they should take it on the chin and refund your deposit if they were a decent outfit
