Excellent display of red superbike ancestry and evolution. Helps me see the main reason I don't find the 916-998 generation as stunning as most. I find the broad headlight area awkward and the tail assembly bulky. The 999 started the narrowing of the front and slimming of the rear. To me, they found the right balance with the 1098/1198 series. The balance seems to have shifted forward with the latest V4 Panigales. That Cagiva is stunning.
im pretty sure it was the cagivas got me into bikes, back in the day watching them, they were stunning, i remember seeing barry sheen doing a talk about them and how they were above and beyond any jap bike, although not that successful they were the original red italian exotics, prettier than anything else at the time
