I know in standard form it looks shit but as long as the bellypan is enclosed it opens up a lot of opportunities for some nice after market stuff,i think it all hinges on the how the bellypan looks as the 99 series has cut outs for the exhaust it always looks unfinished in that area with anything other than Termi's or Akras.
Ducati themselves must be really disappointed with the 959, having to change a masterpiece into a "Munter" like this!! But we all have Euro 4 emissions to thank for it, wait until we get around to Euro 8 or 9, it will just be a huge dustbin exhaust with a tiny motorbike hidden underneath it somewhere !! :anguished::anguished: I'm loving my 899 even more after seeing this, its gonna cost Ducati a fortune giving away Akra /Termi exhaust systems to get the 959 to sell !
I don't think it'll cost Ducati anything. The punter will be picking up the bill eventually. There's no such thing as a free lunch
I must admit I was I little bit upset when I found out the 899 was being replaced just after owning mine a year, but now after seeing these spy shots I'm in no hurry to "upgrade" at all.
True,.. that'll be why the list price of the bike has gone up, to cover Ducati's cost price of a new exhaust!
From what I understand and have been told its going to be a great bike. In not worried about cans as I would go for akros on it and they've added a real slipper clutch. Just adding new electronics but not the auto blipper seems draft to me though but I guess that's because people like me will then plump for the 1299
But not everyone who goes for a 959 will want to pay to put aftermarket exhausts on. I hope that spy shot is not the production version
