  4. no quite as fugly as i imagined it to be but still a bit meh all the same

  5. It looks awful with the side exit exhaust, just seems like a complete afterthought.

So am I right in saying that even if Ducati offer a free Akra exhaust with the 959 this winter it's going to be that side exit one shown in the presentation rather than the one on the 1299? So if you want the 899/1299 style exhaust you have to buy the full system?

  6. I notice they parked it with the exhaust facing backstage. I'd be trying to hide it too if I had one.

  7. I am indeed, sitting corrected.
Can't imagine there will be many of those leaving the PDI with the standard exhaust!

  10. Look at the positives...... at least it somewhat covers the swingarm and 899's will probably not plummet in value either now

  11. Except for the cost of the replacements :)

  12. I guess any road bikes leaving dealers with aftermarket exhausts will still have to be the shot gun termi's side mounted as the full system isn't homologated. Yes I know many fit these but it's a different matter dealers letting customers ride away on them without a homologated pipe.

157hp is strong though, I think the shower fuel injectors will add refinement but we will see, I'm very happy with my 899.

Ps... Crap presentation, didn't make enough of new features like slipper clutch etc. Interesting that they have moved the swingarm pivot, I thought the 899 already had the newer 1299 setting??

  13. I,ll start,i have a full standard system for sale for a 899,will fit a 959, £1000 or £1250 with termi end cans,:upyeah:.

  14. If the 899 cans fit, I'm sure fitting the standard from the 899 will be popular !

  15. This is what I'm worried about. I was planning on buying a 959, but I won't be if it comes with side exit exhausts (even the smaller Akra ones) and I'm not stumping £4.5k for a full underslung system.

  16. The 899/1199 end cans wont fit,but the full system will fit the 959,the standard end cans off the 1299 may well fit.

  17. Maybe I didn't see it right, but it looked like the lower fairing was filled in where the underslung exhaust would usually be, so will you need to buy a 899/1299 lower fairing to get it to fit?

  18. This from the launch

  19. I'm going to start buying up all the standard 899/1199 systems on eBay ready to re-flog them and make a tidy profit when 959's start leaving the showroom! :upyeah:

  20. lol that is truly awful.

I'm sure aftermarket exhaust makers will have this covered though.
