thanks for the reply mate, So out of interest? What made you fit the plug if you’ve opted for the direct master cylinder to caliper line set up? You shouldn’t need it? Most seem to just blank it off, drain the fluid, and leave the pump in place and it all works just fine, and doesn’t effect the t/c. Yeah, lots of complaints regarding the shifter. One guy in Alcarras the other year had a nasty crash due to it. I nearly went over the bars at brands coming out of clearways, which was probably the worst example.. but I’ve had loads of moments. The issues Range from extra blips on corner entry (which seems to be related to the rearset position, to the delay surging issue that I’ve been getting - lots of theories on this but I can’t say anything I’ve done improves it. Chain tension maybe helps a little but mine is cock on and it was doing it A LOT at Donington the other week. Most who are racing them swap the unit for the lohmann set up or similar.
Nobody commenting on the wings that have been added to that GSXR? Are we all just moving on... okay.. I've been following with interest on the Quickshift thing, is the Suzuki one where the linkage moves? The Panigale one obviously does and my V2 the blipper in particular is really hit and miss tbh, I'm wondering whether to take the plunge and change it for a Translogic or the like to give me a firm lever action and see if that improves it, and that's even on the road mine is bad. When I spent a fair bit of time on the GSXR my issue with the quickshifter were that it lacked a positive 'knock' so you know you've changed, and when it downshifted often (especially with the standard can) you couldn't even feel it had downshifted which was a bit unnerving. The best OEM kit I've used is the Aprilia, have to say.
I find them useful for coaching mate. I have them at an angle that means once I’m off an apex I can sort of see if a customer has atleast got near it. Useful Tried to put in a few laps at pace yesterday and struggled to be honest. Couldn’t get the bike to work at Melbourne or Goddards. The new pads meant the front is now being overwhelmed very easily, despite efforts to add more support. It works better in the first sectors, but Melbourne and Goddards is shite. Ended up riding the wheels off the thing and going nowhere Another day, another bike frustration. I’m in a bit of a funny place with it right now, I kept the bike stock because I don’t have an interest in racing it or doing U.K. trackdays. But when I ride, I try to ride it like a race bike, which with me on it atleast, doesn’t work. So then I get frustrated. I’ve put myself in my own hell loop The coaching days ruin your own riding as well. I find it really difficult to go out and put a decent lap in after spending session after session doing 2:20’s
All jokes aside, I would consider @Expat Jack’s trumpet if and when he inevitably sells it. the gsxr is too nice to push any envelopes on. Not saying the trumpet for example isn’t. But there’s a big difference in end over ending a few grands worth of machine vs a 2020 showroom condition one
This is the dilemma I’ve sleep walked into. I’ve spent so much on my V4S it’s now too nice to drop.... I have nightmares watching it cartwheel towards a tyre wall
