Thakns for the technical heads up. My Multi S Touring on an 11 plate is going in for the rear brake mod and I had a text from them saying that the coolant mod was being done as well! It's done 12,000 miles. Wonder what the next recall/mod will be? Still love the beast though. Bwaaaaarrrppp.
Another one done today - now got the pink Agip stuff in it at 15k miles and 2.5 years. Seems to be a confusing picture as "recalls" only seem to occur, as and when the owners find out about it and ring in to get it done? I suspect Ducati were hoping to roll it through during services, under the radar, as it were? Chatting with the Tech and it seems they are a bit baffled, as the "blue" mix has been used for ages without any known problems?
BTW I have just received an official email from "Ducati UK" advising me of this recall which they call an upgrade.
just got ducati email too notifying me to get it booked in for a coolant change, even though it was done 2 months ago !
It seems that they've got their arses into gear and lobbed a mail bomb out so everyone tries to book their bike in when the dealers are quiet over the winter. Do I sound cynical?
Bought my mts1200Sport new in June just received the email today for the coolant upgrade! Now what other recalls do I need to get done whilst it is in? I will have to search about the LH switchgear as I've not heard of that one before, also is there any thing about the Display misting up?
-1 Still no word from the selling dealer (Riders) or DUK. Bike comes home tomorrow from Sycamore with the coolant changed and a bottle of the original fluid as insurance. By the way, Sycamore Uppingham will continue servicing Ducatis even though they will no longer be selling them. They can't do recalls in future but did my 15K service for £450.00 incl. VAT and have been a pleasure to deal with.
When they changed my fluid, they also updated the ECU, so now when I leave the red switch in the down position, it gives a warning message that the switch is down. However i still have no notification which is I feel a big failure on the part of the system. Either DUK or the dealer should notify us!!!
Yes, but the ECU-update is an old recall, and should have been done on all bikes long time ago. The last year, the only recall is the coolant one.
Ah my one supplied to my new in June doesn't give the warning when the ignition switch is left down so will get that done when it goes in for coolant.
A local garage did my coolant recall; I think as a favor. 22,500 mile service, clutch inspection - brake/clutch fluids changed, bolt check and had my Red Silcon water hoses fitted...very nice, sexy...like stockings. 6hrs plus parts. Total cost just under £400 inc VAT No notification from DUK, despite being on the database.
