Well, some of my faith in humanity has been restored. It stayed sub-£30k and don't meet reserve. It shows at least the bidders were not total fools, and it also shows up the seller as nothing but a geedy money grabber.
Fair point, but the fact is it's basically mis-leading marketing. Touting parts as being "magnesium covers" suggests or implies that that is the main constituent component, when it is clearly not. As I alluded to before, these are nothing more than vacural aluminium alloy castings with a magnesium coloration, to reinforce the myth. I don't have an issue with that, firstly as I know the difference between the two and secondly because real magnesium castings are a headache at best to maintain, so these are a cheap but effective alternative. In their favour they also look vaguely similar and won't corrode at the first given opportunity.
As magnesium is generally silver, the golds/grays/greens that manufacturers paint them, is purely to prevent oxidisation. We perceive all gold items from ducati to be magnesium, but in reality, they could be plastic for all we know!
Flatfish, you've hit the proverbail nail on the head! I only wish that other people would not take the manufacturers claims so literally. If they were true, these bikes would be a damn site more expensive. Am I bothered that they are not magnesium alloy parts? No not in the least. I'm just tired of the thinly veiled rhetoric.
of course its me! this is what I wear under my leathers in summer. I love showing off my body now im back in shape
Fuck sake 10 blokes having a go in broad daylight? Honestly I'd go looney if that was mine, wouldn't care if there was 30 of them I'd be biting and kicking/windmilling. Scum
