Some of these thefts are becoming much more brazen recently. Thunder flashes and smoke canisters work well at dis-orientating amoeba such as these low-lifes. I don't advocate discussing security on here as this is potentially a source of information to those of them that can actually read, save to say that it pays to try and stay one step ahead with whatever means you have up your sleeve, when it comes to storing your bike overnight.
Jesus. Sorry to hear this. Let's hope biketrac recover it as quickly as they purport, if indeed biketrac are protecting the bike. Can't help but lose faith in humanity at times...
Absolute nightmare, not only has he lost his pride and joy but he is seriously out of pocket. A motorcycle insurance underwriter will decline to pay any claim because the bike was not garaged at the insured address and the hifi business insurance underwriter will also decline to pay out because the motorcycle is neither stock nor fixture and fittings. Bummer ! Andy
I'd heard on here that if you push a duc past a certain speed it will start as a safety measure... Not sure how much stock is in that though... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I think that is a bit of a doom and gloom view on it. As long as mine isn't outside within a mile of my garage I am fine.... and even then, all they do is up the excess a little. It could quite rightly be parked on the street there overnight, and in the shop it was safer... they will pay out. However, I would say it is a bit daft leaving anything like that on display so that people know where it is. Especially a shop where they know nobody will be in after hours.
Just as something I'd noticed from the pic, it didn't have its steering lock on as the wheel's straight Every road bike insurance I've had said if the steering lock isn't on, it's not covered With this being all over the press and internet, any insurance company worth its salt, will be all over that
My steering lock is not on in the garage, and it isn't a requirement of my insurance. They are a near pointless measure if someone decides to steal it anyway.
Nothing about steering locks in any of my documents. I also asked if they wanted to know about additional measures in my garage, however it just being in the garage trumps all of the other security, so they were not interested. (I do use it, but only when I have to leave it outside anywhere, because then it is the only security it has).

pathetic... to deny person who actually wanted to own bike chance to get one only to make few £ profit... i hope no one will actually buy it. so basically out of 30 bikes which come to UK at least 2 were purchased by speculators. i would like to report the cunt to HMRC to make sure they will get their cut out of the profit he will make.
I wish I could agree with you more but I can't. Seems all wrong. I don't mind somebody making a buck but this feels unpleasant.
Who is making the profit, the original owner or Hyside ? Was it traded or is Hyside acting as an agent ? Whilst I don't disagree with your point, make sure you shoot the right person. Andy
