Finally got someone coming to install PPF on the 6th June! Cannot wait to get out on this bike. It's been sat in the garage for 7 months, then I have 11 days to do the 600 miles before it's service! That weather better arrive soon!
I know madness isn't it! I've had numerous occasions where I thought the PPF was going to be installed but alas it didn't happen. Very frustrating. How have you found the bike? I felt my last 1299S sort of settled in after 2000 miles and things just started coming together in how it felt. I guess thats what will happen again but would be interested to hear your experiences. I got myself another bike in the meantime. lol Just busy running that in at the moment, just another 200 miles to go but it's painfully slow going...
I couldn't have waited as patiently as you and would have wrapped it in sellotape or something . I've found the bike simply amazing and it just seems to get better every time I ride it. I thought my 959 was good, but this is in a whole different league in my opinion. So addicted to the bang it makes when pressing on and upshifting. Only problem is trying to hang on to my licence, as it's so capable that you barely feel like your moving until you're in triple figures. Obviously it's not ideal around town, but I didn't buy it for that reason. Only had one very minor problem and that was a bit of loose trim, fixed and replaced under warranty of course. Oh and a nail in the back tyre, but can't really blame the bike for that one! I've had many fast and expensive cars, give me my Anni ahead of them any day. The bike is practically a celebrity, everywhere you go it gets massive amounts of attention. Hurry up and get run in and make the most of the decent weather .
It's certainly been hard not to venture out on it and there's been a few days I very nearly did. I think if I hadn't have had the previous 1299 I would not have been so disciplined! Next Tuesday is the day. Then I have 11 days to do the 600 miles. If I get some decent days no reason why I shouldn't be able to do it and because it does about 106mph (IIRC) at 6k in top it won't be like the 60mph running in session I'm doing at the moment. People think it's a myth this bike of mine and I don't blame them! If the weather is any good on Wednesday evening I'll probably venture down to Squires my local bike cafe for half an hour so it may get a bit of attention but it's miles I need, not crappy tea and cornish nasties, so will not stop long. On a slightly different note, don't know if I was told this or I read it somewhere, but I understand thieves are targetting bikes by placing mobile gps devices on bikes when parked up and track them back to their overnight storage places. Just can't seem to relax with all this bulls**t. Glad you're enjoying it, just knowing this will make Tuesday a much sweeter experience.
