New Ducati Monster 1200 for 2014 ( spy shots )

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Dubs, Sep 30, 2013.

  1. This has been running for months. If you look at twitter there's an official Monster account that has been posting a new picture / video / information every day!

  2. Best thing is there is nothing to hide. It is a new style (ugly style to sam) monster with Diavel engine. Done no whoop.

  3. Threads merged

  4. I want merging power.....

  5. Have to say I'm not happy with the way the bikes are going more and more away from the original concept. I really like the early air cooled monsters (so much so I'm looking for a M1000DS to trade for my S4R).

Ok I accept that they have to go water cooled to meet EU regs but, you could combine the water and oil rad so you lost the silly low down oil cooler. What about some retro dual pipes (one per side and low down) a normal double sided swinging arm? Just a round head light that's not split into two parts and is an odd shape?

  6. Dig it like a shovel

  7. Funny that they brought out the retro anniversary bikes last year and they didn't sell that well so maybe the majority don't want to go that way?

  8. Yeah I know, I thought they were great...

  9. Still waiting for the new superduke...

  10. You allowed to mention KTM's on here?

  11. Until Matt gives me an infraction stick I am a free agent..

  15. Great, isn't it? Nothing on the Ducati website as yet and nothing on our electronic training resource, but it's on the MCN website, although fairly sparse details. Apparently more information in this week's MCN and obviously more and more details and information will come cascading through over the next day or two.............

  16. From information I gleaned a few weeks ago and looking at the piccies, it's more a hybrid of the existing Monster and the Diavel. So, slightly larger physically and with longer swingarm and wheelbase to control the inevitable BIG wheelies!! Those calipers allied to the Ohlins look awesome!
