  2. So far, from 05/08/17
(Bike is a ex-demo base model registered 03/17 and bought with 800miles):

Windscreen cracked (actually delivered like that), radiator hose blew up (resolved), however the active key and front brake fluid reservoir still an issue to be sorted. I decided to create an issue data log, as the previous repairs have only been recorded at the dealer, no hard copy given, so will do my own.

  3. First time I’ve heard it called that...:joy:

  4. My front brake reservoir is leaking, only spots of fluid around the cap but I,m going to take it in soon as I want it replaced.

  6. They will probably replace the cap. After I removed and dried everything, stopped leaking for the last 100 miles. There are two tiny grooves in the gasket that should match the cap position. Just by aligning the screw holes it is impossible to tell if they are correctly fitted or not. Need to feel it if in position before tightening the screws. Also, as common problem observed here in the forum, the over tightening of the screws can distort the plastic cap. Still need to prove if my theory is right for a few hundred miles ahead.

  7. Sounds like you have the teething troubles sorted now. Shame the good weather is nearly over.

  8. Yes. Well, you also reminded me that I will need some heated gloves as the heated grips are not good enough. Feel very cold last week early morning at 8C.

  9. Took it in and they cleaned the seal and lid topped up the fluid and so far no leaks, they said if it returns they will replace the reservoir but its looking ok so far after 200 miles , it would have leaked all over the place by now before the fix.

  10. Fingers crossed! That's what I did at home. Another ride out today and all dry as well. I didn't want to take in (again). Will put a green line on my fault datalog on this one. Currently trying to find out a way to sort the key fob battery. Today it has gone again however, I opened the key and pushed the little reset button, also pressed the battery in, closed the lid and it worked again. Maybe it is just a bad contact, will see.

  11. Well we were out again on monday, it was pleasant but very windy. All the back roads were full of tractor crap & ton,s of road kill. There was gravel on a lot of the bends to try & avoid which is a real hazard & the tarmac that is so knackered that local councilers should be shot on site. But still amazed at the bike. I put the termi baffle back in To try to see any difference in power delivery. Does not seem any different, just much quieter, the bike still goes like stink. Now i have finished running the bike in i have been reving a lot higher & i now know what some of you have said about the flat spot at around 6 grand. Strange as it sounds like another set of inlets have opened, maybe the DVT but once it gets above that its off like a scalded cat. Out again tomorrow, going Skipton way but up here its going to be cold 10 or 11. Tried the heated grips on high for 1st time & now see what the other guys mean. they were ok but not red hot like the Oxford ones i have had on other bikes. But in fairness when i used to turn the Oxfords to the highest setting i soon had to turn them back down again once my gloves started smoking. I have been riding most of my adult life Trials, Trail, road,& this point still amazes me. (Still a crap rider though in my own opinion but still here). I digress, i always follow on usually there is between 3 & 6 of us with a mixture of bikes from R1200GS,s, Triumph 1050, fz1, K1300s. To name but a few. I ride at the rear or near the rear. I like to drop back & then gun it to catch up sometimes on quiet roads. But sometimes i think god i am struggling to keep up with these guys & maybe its time to pack it in, at a young at heart retired 65 year old. But the other day one guy behind me stopped. I chased after the guys in front to alert them of this, & we all turned round. Now i am in front. We went back & the rear gunner was nowhere in sight. His bike was there but not him, long story short he went into woods to bleed his lizard. Tonight we were planning the route for Skipton tomorrow & the guys said in no incertain terms that i was staying at the back because when we went back yesterday i dissapeared in to oblivian & if i lead the way they would not be able to keep up with the Multi. Its only now i realise that i brake into a corner, scrub speed off sometimes feather the rear brake in the apex, then gently gun the beast out & quite often lift the front. Even the guy on the FZ1 said he struggles to keep the pace when i gun it. Anyway i have also noticed as i am sure most of you guys have that in the touring mode the bike is quite soft at the rear & comfortable, but if i know i,m going to give it some i switch to sport mode & what a difference. Especially when aproaching a tight bend at speed. In touring the bike seems to wallow a bit mid bend, a bit like a under inflated rear tyre would. But in sports mode the bike is much more planted & on exit so much more reassuring. I have had many bikes around 35 or so & a lot of sports bikes with more power & lighter than the Multi but honestly this thing is so much better than any bike i have ever owned. I would buy this bike all over again just to hear the termi exhaust on full song. Not quite but nearly as good as the best s-x i ever had. Ok i exaggerate a bit at times but you see where i,m coming from. I think this is why a lot of members on here keep saying why do they put the different modes on a bike that only needs one mode, SPORTS full out power. I totally disagree with you all that say that. If you wanted a bike purely for racing around on then you would be better of with a Paniggali, Bmw R1000, R1, Blade, Gixer, & so on. This is a bike that will go over the rough moors as i do regularly & chase down the guy on the blade with his knee down on every corner, or just go to europe touring with luggage & the bit on the side sat behind you. Winter is coming fast so soon to put the multi in wraps until spring. So bought myself a hairdressers car for the winter. Also my little old gixer 750 project. Its been in someones garage since 1999.

  13. What biking is all about innit. Making you feel good. I’ve been away a week or so and I can’t wait to jump on the Mutley and go for a spin. Can’t remember the last one that made me feel like this.

FWIW I never take mine (basic) off touring. Its perfect imho. Pussy cat low speed, but get her revving about 5-1/2 K and it’s just fooking brilliant.

  14. With skyhook changing modes is so much more

  15. I think I understand, haven't driven on Irish roads for some time but from what I remember there were'nt that many smooth roads out there.

  16. You get great surfaces, and utter shite ones. Tbh its a whole country worth of roads I’d go looking for when I was in that England.
No complaints from me about the biking over here, and you rarely see anyone else out of tourist season.

  17. FWIW Yoozy, I love the place and the people and would like to go back there for a tour soon :)
