New licence regulations

  1. There is probably still time to get the test done before the new rules come in. My 18 year old lad (Hatman on this forum) took his test on a 125 and now rides a 620 Multistrada which is restricted to 33bhp. 2 years after his test pass at 20 he will be able to de restrict or move to a faster bike. His insurance at around £600 is still way cheaper than a car where we have been quoted £3000.00.
With the new rules I see little incentive for the young uns to take their tests on a 125 if they then have to take another test later and I guess many will just decide to do their CBT only
I thought the present system was hard enough compared to when I did my test in 1981, I do think there is a sort of discrimination against young riders compared to cars where if you have the cash to insure you can drive anything after passing your test

  2. Just sorting my sons test out now - it's a four-week wait to do the theory in some parts so hurry up if doing before the deadline everyone is doing the same and local bike school here has only 5 slots left

  3. trying to get a 17-year-old to hurry up is a challenge at the best of times
