1200 New Model

  1.
  2. That was sorted in 2012.

  3. My April 2013 S somehow missed the mod then! Don't think that's the case ... Didn't check the new model

  4. When I test rode a 2011 the left side heel clearance was a problem, but this is something I have never noticed on my 2012.

  5. Er ... no I don't. The riding position and seat would be torture for trips over 20 minutes and I like to be in the saddle for hours.

  6. I believe the centre stand was changed for 2012. When I test rode a 2011 the left side heel clearance was a problem, but this is something I have never noticed on my 2012.

  7. Sure you haven't left your left foot somewhere? Loads of people here have complained of heel problem on 2013 bike! Mine's a Bosch/Skyhook so definitely not an early model. I will check 2014 model when it hits the dealers.

  8. The centre stand left foot interface is still a problem on my 2013.
Why have they gone back to a three bolt screen on the new one ?

  9. If you don't mind me asking.....

How long did you have to wait?
How would you rate the buying experience?
    Did you test ride first?
    What were your first impressions?
Does it sound 'gert lush' with those shorty pipes?

I really love my Mutley and we have some big euro trips planned for next year. But the whole owning a brand new Ducati has been tainted by
My local Ducati dealer (I live in Bristol), they have done a really shit job of making me feel like they value the business so far.

After speaking with Stuart (Norton boss man) I got the impression that the owning a Norton experience will be more satisfying.

I wish Louigi Moto could do 'in warranty' servicing :-(

    Deaks

  10. I didn't have to wait long because I bought it from someone who had been waiting a while, about 7 months I think..? So can't really give you a buying experience. Bought without a test ride, but had rode a pals a while before
It sounds much better with the shorty pipes than standard, a proper throaty twin noise, not a lot different from a proper sounding Ducati !

It will need a remap though for the pipes, that Norton will do with the 1st service

Can't really comment on the norton experience to be far until I put a few miles on it, but I'm looking very forward to finding out!!

  11. Just discovered the latest version is different from my 2012 which is different from the original, the prominent part of the stand is under the heel as opposed to behind the heel.

  12. As said previously I'd wait to see it in the flesh. I had a sit on one and sheesh what have they don't to it, it was like sitting on a scooter it was that low. It did look ok but for me I like to see over cars.

They have made a better job of the underneath though, although the guy on the stand dint know it that came as standard or not. I think not as the other demo bikes didn't have it.

  13. I think you're referring to the optional Engine Cover Plate [97380341A] which is made from 4 mm thick aluminium and costs £174.00. It's included in the Enduro Pack [97980061A] along with Auxiliary LED Lights, Engine Protection Bars, Radiator Guard, Off Road Foot Pegs and Side Stand Plate - all made by Touratech except the lights.

Your photo shows all the items in the Enduro Pack really well.

Did you notice if the LED lights mount directly to the bike or onto the engine protection bars.

  14. Not sure but if you zoom in on the pics it looks like there mounted to the top engine bar bracket.

  15. Well, went yesterday and was pretty underwhelmed with the whole show, but in particular the new MTS.

That "Enduro Pack" just looks properly wrong on the Ducati imvho, like something you have knocked together in the shed!

I'm sure the engine upgrade and the Monobloc brakes will be much better than the existing models (certainly my 2010), but it just wasn't doing anything for me, not at its current price point?

They need to beef up some of the components from "pre-production" levels, like switchgear, hand guards, dash etc as they look as though they will break apart easily?

Also, was it just me or is it now ridiculously low - maybe they set them like that at shows, to attract more punters to the dealerships, that may otherwise be put off?

Hate to say, but the GS "looks" a better executed package and I even had more interest in the Yam-Ten!

  16. Totally agree, nsm3, styling wise.....in my humble opinion, the bike has taken a big step backwards, although Ducati did point out that the display models were pre production which would account for the finish but not the fact that it looks like it has put on weight, therefore I will not be investing any of my money in this version, I will stick with the 2013 model for now until something really catches my attention, unfortunatly nothing at the show did!! apart from the young ladies handing out freebies.

  17. Disappointed with the seat (about the only thing I dislike on my 2010) on the new model at the NEC - more room behind your arse but it still seems to be at a angle that pushes you forward squashing your balls! otherwise I thought overall it looked a more premium item. Not sure I can justify the £7-£9k they'll want (guessing mines worth about £6k trade in) on top of mine to change.

  18. They can. They are VAT registered, as long as you specify genuine Ducati parts your warranty will remain intact. By law.

  19. Its different on bikes from cars, well discussed on here. Use main dealer until warranty over

  20. Apologies if I'm being a bit dull (or if it's mentioned elsewhere) but, what's with the reflectors on the forks? Is this yet another new EU directive or is the bike destined to be shown in the USA?
