1200 DVT New Mts Dvt On Its Way

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Krumper, Apr 8, 2015.

  1. Hi there
I noticed that you said that you have received your full exhaust system, I presume this is the Termi system. Here in Oz they have told me that it will be available for purchase only in July, that they are not manufactured yet. Can you confirm that you have one ?
    Thanks

  2. Sorry, miscomm from dealer. Full system not here yet.

Yes, referring to the full Termi. I will find out about the July thing.

  3. The good news is that my new MTS1200S arrived at Snells, was PDI'ed, and today a mechanic took it for a test ride on trade plates.
The bad news is he had a crash, broke his wrist, and the bike has some minor damage, so that particular bike is not fit for delivery to me after all.
But the good news is Snells have managed to get hold of another new bike for me, and promise to have it ready for later in the week. Phew!
The really good news is that Snells tell the truth about these kinds of problems immediately, instead of keeping customers in the dark.

  9. Bet I'll get the bloody broken one sent to me! Don't suppose we got a fix on the vin number?

Bad news for you though but not as bad as it might have been as they have probably found you my bike instead :Sour:

Actually, er what colour was your one? :Meh:

  10. I thought I saw an MTS being delivered in its crate at Snells on Friday. Shame it's been wrecked. That mechanic will be getting an earful I'm sure.

I suspect the other one they have for you is one of two they had "arriving shortly" when I visited them on Friday so good news that you'll be getting one so quickly.

  11. I ordered a red Touring from Snells on Saturday - Bryan mentioned that one had been crashed on Friday. Mine is due in 3-4 weeks, which is the best I could do having rung round last week.

Really impressed with how they do business, straightforward and a good deal for my p/ex. Interestingly, another quote that I had from a dealer further down the A3 wanted £240 labour to fit a few extras. Cheeky!

  12. Snells agreed that for anything ordered along with a new bike, fitting it is included in the price.

  15. If the bike is registered, I would expect it to be repaired and sold on, probably as a pre-reg'd demo. Lets face it that would happen if a demo bike got dropped.
If its been repaired correctly with all new parts, I dont see the problem. I would buy it if the price were right.
If it were sold to a customer as a new bike then yes, I agree that would not be too special. I dont think Snells would even entertain this though.

I hope the mechanic gets better soon. After all the accident may not have been his fault.

When I bought all my previous bikes from P&H they have given a discount on all parts sold at same time as bike purchase, and would fit for free if I wanted them to (I prefer to do most of it myself).

Pete, cant wait to hear your views on the new bike ;-)

  16. Confirmed 2 S Touring packs arriving at Pro Twins by Thursday.

  17. The crashed multi was due to a woman driver apparently. Minor damage to bike and fortunately same with mechanic.
Bike will b 2 nd demo bike when repaired.

  18. While I was at Snell's today for my 600 mile service, I took a close look at the MTS1200S which would have been destined for me, but which was (famously) crashed and has not yet been repaired. I also spoke to the guy who crashed it.

The damage is actually very slight. Both the hand guards are broken. There are two or three tiny scratches on the red bodywork, with slight marks on one pannier. And that's it. It's obvious the crash was very mild indeed. "Wrecked" is a great exaggeration.

The rider has his left wrist in strapping, but no plaster. He is at work, but on "restricted duties".

Snell's told me they intend to use the bike as a demonstrator, once it has been fixed. Seems reasonable to me.
