  2. The first jobs have started, had delivery of some Shell oil and filter, noticed a drip from the fuel pump so new pump seal ordered, tank already off and pump out ready and cleaned, looks very good inside so that's something at least.

The bike has been sat a long time seal looked ok but maybe slightly expanded around the seat, could be E10 fuel at work, I'm not sure what was in it.

  3. While waiting for the fuel pump seal to be delivered just having an inspection and wipe over with some GT85, this is in really nice condition, very pleased, looks dry no signs of oil leaks and rad in good shape.

  4. Managed to do a bit of a mini service yesterday, good to get a few jobs done and the new fuel pump seal has now made the tank fuel tight again.

Set about fitting some new Champion plugs, oil and filter along with CNC deep sump cover. Also a new MOSFET reg/rec fitted as I had suspicions my old one was over charging, I didn't want to risk using the lithium-ion battery again so I've stuck in a good old lead acid battery and now no hi voltage warnings, sits at a nice steady 13.8v on the road.

Next up is to fit a new seat cover as the original one looks horrible and cheap so that should be a nice addition.

Had a good run out today, bit of a test ride to check everything over and it was an absolute dream to ride, finally wound it up as well, incredible sound. It really is a pleasure working on this bike as well as just looking at!

  5. Looks like you got yourself a real peach:upyeah: It's taken me a long time to get round to liking the 749/999 shape. IMO always better with stickers on to break up those slab sides...

  6. That looks great, even better without the rim tape. Are you leaving the decal kit on?

  7. I was thinking the same yesterday, I actually quite like the decal kit, it's obviously been on a long time but I agree it breaks it up a bit. It would only come off if I decide to have it all painted but I like a bit of patina on it.

  8. Loads better without the rim tape! think the decals might be staying for now, I've not seen another with this kit on.

  9. Little winter job, ordered a seat cover from Saxon seats a while back and only just got round to fitting, great quality, excellent service and easy to fit. Took my time and got myself a bit more of a heavy duty stapler to do the job, very pleased, goes well with the graphics.

  10. Looks good, except the stripes are the wrong way round on it. Sorry!

  12. Yes spotted that, shame they didn't match up but still looks much better to me. Will be ok when it's upside down

  13. I suppose the jobs never really stop, despite me thinking I solved the petrol leak with a new pump o ring I found the old tank to be weeping around the rear bracket welds, very annoying. I managed to find myself a brand new genuine Fila R tank still in Ducati packing for a very reasonable price.

New fuel filter and air filters fitted, also removed some of the decals to clean it up a bit but kept a more simple look along with a new tail plastic (needs painting), overall it reminds me a little of the Desmosidici so I'm happy with that for now, colours aren't fully matching but I'll look at that next year!

  14. Few more jobs sorted over winter, samco hose kit and a switch to NGK plugs along with a removal of most of the graphics and a trim down of the front graphics.

Really pleased with the bike, managed a couple of rides out recently, just needs a set of fresher tyres and probably a dyno run just to double check everything is healthy and as it should be but feels good to me.
