New shape 848 / baby 1199?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Ducatibob848, Feb 20, 2013.

  1. The 848 produces 140hp, how is the extra 50cc going to get it to 155hp with the same 11,500rpm rev limit? Just on efficiency or are they lying? Either way. I bet it's blooming lovely! I bought an 848 cause I just fear it's going to be £13k, and I don't fit on the pan

  2. Well mine chipped made 139 the same day that ot made 131 with a dp flash at the wheel. So manf could easy make 150 claim, given 10% loss from crank to road...and they claim 195 (?) for Pani but most tested are not much more than 165

  3. does it matter when the back end looks like your grandma's axe hole?

It'll be a great bike and they'll sell loads, rightly so.

  4. Entirely different over-square engine with everything lightened, less friction and better performance than the old L-twin engine? Maybe?

  5. Mcn are claiming the bike will be in next weeks paper with full details

  6. They're hoping that the 899 will be announced as part of the MY2014 range, but I've heard otherwise.

  7. The italian mags reckon it will be days until we get confirmation of what Ducati are planning.

Looks like the "899" is what its going to be called.

Looking forward to seeing it, have they got anything else, I know there were spy shots of a 2014 Panigale 1199 floating about.

  8. My pet spider Jeremy said it's going to be a trike  and he knows his onions!!
