950 New V2s

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Lizzyfan, Nov 27, 2021.

  1. Well ordered a V2S Multi in Red - with a few extras - bike was available now - in the showroom - but will take delivery in early March

Looks like many of the 1200 / 1260 parts will fit... just by look...

I am a short arse - and could just tippy toe - so will go with the lower seat first (none in stock to try)

If that does not work -- will try the lowered suspension - but hoping the seat alone is enough.

Road the demo around the carpark - could have gone for a test ride - but was more interested in the riding position and height....

Lets hope the weather warms up / dries up...

  2. Just need it to warm up a bit now !!!

  3. Ian_H - Very nice !! Was it delivered or did you ride it home? I'm in the process of ordering all the aftermarket parts I want to fit to mine so I have them in the garage for when it turns up on March 1st. I've also asked the dealers to fit the Datatool Stealth tacker to it & will prob have the Ducati alarm fitted at the 600 mile service. What are your initial impressions compared to your old 950s?

  4. What you ordering?

I have Evotech main crash bungs, engine guard and rad and oil guards sat in garage

  5. Evo-Tec rad, oil cooler & engine guards. Evo-Tec hand guards & Satnav over the dash mount to suit a Garmin Zumo XT

  6. Haven't ridden it yet - too cold for me. Looks warmer tomorrow so will go for a spin then.
    And it was delivered thankfully.

I've received my Evotech order of stuff to go on:
    Levers
    Oil cooler guard
    Rad guard
    Engine guard

And stuff I took off my old 950
    Roadlok
    Tracker
    MRA Sports screen

Looks like my old cool-cover won't fit though.
And still waiting for my Ducati high seat to arrive.

  8. I've been in touch with Steve from Conquest racing about the Evo-Tec parts I want. I'll DM him for a code once they are all on their web page.

  9. Very nice, and cool plate. I’ve been looking for a plate for my new Pikes Peak, think I’ve found one.

  10. Looks nice. Not sure why but I was expecting the V2 to look like the V4 but it doesn't, it just looks like the previous Multis. Which is a good thing IMO!

I'm not really into buying new but someone has to so the rest of us can get a good deal in 2-3 years' time. Really want the weather to warm up so I get out on mine. Enjoy!

  11. I had a good ride on a V2S yesterday morning (I think I was the first person to ride this particular DUK press bike). Came away very, very impressed - I've put together a slightly overlong and waffly video on it. Basically if you've got one on order you won't be disappointed - I found it just felt a bit smoother, punchier and more premium feeling than the 950S.

  14. Re: Insurance. I've got the reg number of my new V2s & have so far rang Bikesure & Bennetts. Neither of them had the new v2s with travel pack on their system. Bikesure (I'm told these are the official Ducati insurers?) were very good, asking a lot of questions & gave me a qoute of £280. Bennetts tele sales guy wasn't so good, a lot of um & arring & repeat questions. In the end he couldn't give me a price as the info had to go off to their under writers for confirmation of the new bike model & he said it could be a few days before they contact me with the price. Has anyone else had this trouble insuring the new V2s ? Who are you insured with ??

  15. I've got a multi-bike policy with Bennetts. Cost me £100 to swap my 2017 950 to V2S.
They couldn't find the V2S - just the V2 .. I made sure the value was correct though and mentioned the standard extras. Reminds me to check if they have V2S on their system yet.
My policy is for 3 bikes and because my R9T is modified they always need to go through their under-writers specialist team but they always sort it out.

  17. I’ve been having trouble getting quotes for my new Streetfighter V2, so it would seem that the insurance companies are becoming quite slow at adding new bikes to their database.

  18. FYI - I called Bennetts on Friday - they came back to me today with policy updated to explicitly say V2S Travel Pack.
No further cost when policy only said V2 as that was all they had on their database.

  19. I got well and truly shafted by Aunty Carol when I wanted to take my 1250 GSA off my multi-bike policy and swap it for the V2S. Their underwriter (Zenith) had no history for the V2S and so wouldn't insure it. Consequently, I was advised my policy would have to be cancelled and a new one taken out at a very 'attractive' £750.00 pa :scream:

Needless to say, I told Aunty where to go. In the end I moved to BeMoto on a new multi bike policy, which still cost me £480.00 with all the bells and whistles. TBH, as a 60 YO, with clean licence, 1 accident (third party fault) and ROSPA and IAM advanced test under my belt, I still felt this was excessive. What was even more disconcerting was that I could get a multi bike policy via All Styles underwritten by, yes, you've guessed it, Zenith!! WTF!!

  20. So was going to take insurance with Ducati Insurance - £265 - after they had been to the underwriters - but there is a cause that if within 500M of home it must be garaged - so if I was washing bike - on drive - and it got stolen - it would not be covered.

So spoke with Devitt - they too had to go to underwriters and get the quote - was £281 - less excess and the garage clause is only between 10PM and 6AM - I checked you could still ride it between those hours (I ride early mornings) - they said you could.. so went with Devitt
