I will not be able to make it today as the bike is only running on one cylinder under load (on tick over it is blowing back through the airbox)...plus also I have a slight rear tyre pressure issue. I guess it is never easy when the previous owner had not used the bike very much and these little problems will emerge. So today I will mostly be trying to find out why I only have a 300SS and not a 600SS!
Swap the plugs over to see if it's a duff plug? Then you can start swzpping ignition parts to rule them out. However, if it's only on idle that points to carbs.
Thanks for the guidance as I am new to Ducati's so not sure where to start. It's not only on idle as I gave her a run and 90% of the time it was on one cylinder. I'll have a go at swapping the plugs over. It'the front cylinder that is not firing. She will start with only the rear plug connected but not the front. Sometimes the front cylinder cuts in and sometimes not on tick over. Upon examining the air filter these is a black deposit that corresponds with the right hand carb (I'll need to check what cylinder that is). She was running fine the other weekend; so could be damp etc.
