Thanks Derek, that's the reading I pulled off the old one yesterday ! When the Fiat one arrives I will measure it and let you know. My old Guzzi used to have quite a few 'Fiat' electricals on it too - mind you that lest me stranded on a few occasions as well !!
OK, just to tidy up this thread and not leave it hanging. Having crawled all over the bike and cleaned all the electrical connections, the problem finally turned out to be the fuel pump relay which was intermittently breaking down. Not sure of all the functions this particular relay does, but given that the plugs were wet and there was no spark at all, it threw me off the scent ! Big thanks to John and Chris for all their help - you know who you are ! and for the uprated relay - much appreciated. From now on I'll always carry a spare just in case, but you can always substitute the headlight relay if you need to limp home. Happy Christmas to all. Finster
