  2. Maybe so Exige. I will tell them I don't want it now :(

As for starting, once I get my paws on it..I imagine it will start just fine.
I just hope it stops ok :)

  3. Well, I got a letter this morning confirming the purchase. So it's definitely happening. They are sure it is an s model (we will see) I will be looking at the sump when I see it next.

They also say it has all original body work, that would make it a genuine mono - I would be surprised if it is a genuine mono, not a converted one.

I looks very similar to the one that was advertised on here recently - same exhaust system which I assume is aftermarket. Ohlins steering damper.

I was a bit concerned as it was still advertised yesterday but it's no longer listed anywhere. The shop are going to service it so they can put 3 months warranty on it and deliver it.

I'm glad I have lists of things to do at home or I would be desperate to get it. Quite excited and I don't get excited so easy these days.

Just need to lose a bit of weight. I have a brand new set of leathers hanging up that don't fit me now, that's a good reason to stop over indulging. I have a brand new un-used arai lid, some new boots and gloves - bought for racing which I did not take up.

Have to start looking at meet ups before the weather gets to cold :)

  4. If you drop me a pm with the VIN I can check it out for you and confirm if it's an original mono :)

  5. I don't have the bike yet, assuming you work for Ducati can you work from the registration? I don't think it is a genuine Mono... the details did not claim it was, although I did ask if it was all original body work.

I'd like to know if it was a genuine s model, I don't think the shop would have got that wrong. I will know soon enough when it arrives.

  6. Its not a genuine mono, it has foot rest hanger mounting points on the rear sub frame :( oh well. If it's not an s model - they can have it back.

  7. Damn wish I was nearer that's the best offer of flowers candles and McDonald's I would have received :Sorry:

  8. Try Carole Nash

  9. Yeahhhhh it's red

Yellow is nice on certain bikes not sure which :)
It's like riding a bowl of custard but ..... I guess you could be seen better
My opinion is most like red so it could resale better but more than that a well looked after bike helps

  10. Can't do it off the reg I'm afraid. I need the last 6 numbers off the VIN.

  11. I got the vin number > via the vin plate Ducati UK states...

Moto 998 S 02 EUR R TN (does that sound about right?)

They are sending me a photo of the bottom half the motor too.

I can't take it on the day they could get it to me, so delivery is now in 12 days. Hope the weather stays good.

  12. That info is model designation. Looks right though. The VIN is the chassis number and starts with ZDM.....
Can't get any info off the engine number I'm afraid.

  13. Nelly, I called the branch local to where the bike is with the vin number, who then checked Ducati Uks mainframe, that is the model :)

I will be getting photos of the engine for someone like Exige to look at. I have looked online and I can see the difference in sumps so should be straight forward.

I know it is not a genuine Mono sadly, it has rear foot rest hanger mounting lugs on the sub frame ;( Perhaps not such a bad thing - Happy days.
