Nl Laguna Seca 2020

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Nelson, Dec 6, 2019.

  1. Why do you doubt it? I'd be surprised if that far out they didn't but terms are clear, non refundable isn't really ambiguous.....

  2. Take that to its conclusion and you could have c10 uk days for that 1500 quid, it's about the experience as much as the track time, I've done both PI and Laguna, I didn't rate PI enough to go back on the NL trip, but Laguna is different level hence I'm all over it ...

  3. I do agree mate but just a bit too rich for me, the experience of more Euro tracks for the same cash out weighs it for me personally.
And I wouldn't say 10 UK days for £1500, more like 5 or 6 when you factor in all the costs (I don't have a van so have to hire one for example). Horses for courses.

  4. Previously when I've had a change of the plans the no-refundable deposit has not been refunded because it's non-refundable. ;)
However, both NL and FE have been very accommodating with crediting the dosh to another booking.

  7. I doubt it because whenever I’ve placed a deposit on a track gig and failed to make it, I’ve invariably received fuck all back. Including transferring to future events. That applies to both uk and euro gigs.

  8. Nope.

  9. It’s not. But it’s not customer friendly either with 6m notice to the event.

  10. Not in my experience.

  11. Credit where credits due - NL were great with me over the date change of the Portimao trip in April. I can’t make the new dates so they refunded me

  12. That’s because they changed the dates so are legally obliged to return any and all monies paid. Andy

  13. I get that but they were still good

  14. Not really. They had to: it wasn’t a choice.

  15. Didn't have to compensate me for my flights but they still did

  16. Much of it will be how close to the event I guess.

  17. You dont need to compress the suspension when it's on the stillage; you can just tie it down by the foot pegs and it's fine with a strap around the front wheel. One big mistake I made with Phillip Island was letting the bike get wet in the rain whilst packing it onto the container. It arrived with corrosion on every bolt. If I did another sea shipping I would make sure everything is sprayed with ACF50 before it left my garage.

The shipping time didn't bother me too much because I had another bike and the Laguna Seca trip is arguably better timing since the bikes would be shipped ~end of september and return in December so you are only really swapping a November Euro trip for the US one.

  18. I’ve heard they’re very strict on the 105db limit too.
Dunno if that’s static or ride past but either way I’m buggered I’d say....

  19. I also understand they're very strict on noise.
Most events are lower than that, NL have arranged a noisy day.
I won't be going, still too many euros to be ticked off the list.

  20. From their website, it’s 105db. Anyone going should fit baffles imho
