1299 No Insurance

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by martin y, Apr 5, 2016.

  1. Ducati insurace just quoted £492 for Panigale S, thats big increase on base model quotes, trying to find me a better deal and going to ring me back. Plus must have a Bike Trac tracker fitted which is another £100 per year, nearly £600 all in:astonished: or Bennetts £206 for base model thats a crazy difference for the extra 4k value.

  2. fuck the insurance !

just fit a tracker if you think your bikes can be stolen! i have 2015 ducati Multistrada DVT1200 s stolen 2 times and recoverd BY POLICE in 2 hours !!!!!!!!!

when the bike moves you get a message! and if you didnt see the massage and he bike still moving the company calls you. when you say its stolen they contact the police for you, all you do is given a crime number and the police locate your bike in minutes !!!!!!!!!

i had my bike recovered 2 times with no scratch or damage! yes i was lucky.

now what is insurance in UK? its a big SCAM JOB! there is no evidence insurance companies there to help you.
    they are after their "BOnus".

even if you have full cover insurance for 1299s when your bike is stolen, they want to know WHERE, WHY , WHEN
if its not your house (some of them dont want to pay you!!!)
if its stolen because you didnt lock it ( they dont wanna pay you!)
if its stolen because you park to put petrol!!!! they still want to know if you lock your steering !i dont know how many people lock their bikes when they put petrol!! lol

If you crash even if the bike only has a side panel damage they want to write it off!
i have been crashed from behind from an Addison LEE on My 2012 zzr1400 200 hp bike and the taxi driver said i was blocking him :) and the insurance didnt protected me !

even if you have a fully insurance it doesn't mean you are fully covered !
say you are travelling to some where and need to pop to work before THEY ACTUALLY CAN SAY YOU ARE COMMUTING therefore if you crash they have the right to say we don't pay you!

if your bike is a write off and they are willing to pay , they try to pay the minimum market value , doesn't mater if your have a £3000 exhaust they pay you the market value (second hand ) of your beloved bike!

INSURANCE IS SCAM. since its scam, i stop worring about the insurance long time ago. i do fully insurance everytime. but i do protect my own ass with my own self.

talk to under writers get your bike as a standart with S updates on it . insure that way. you will be protected.

  4. The >£20k Figure seems to ring alarm bells with insurers
Assuming you can get a very low excess, you could always list the bike's value at £19,999 and I suspect you won't have a problem getting a decent quote then

  5. Thats exactly what I did with MCE. Dropped the value of the bike to £19,995 and my insurance is £274. At full list price MCE wanted over £7500!

  6. Ducati Insurance just got back to me with a better quote £345.00 comprehensive but £1000 on excess at new value, Bike trac tracker has to be fitted as part of deal but thats a good investment anyway, somehow do not think I am going to do any better.

  7. That sounds a good price, and I hear Ducati insurance have a good reputation at paying out
£20k must be the threshold for motorbike insurance. Cars are the same, but it's £100k

  8. +1 on the £20,000 value - over that and they get twitchy......

  9. Under the circumstances , sounds fair to me, glad you got sorted.

  10. god i am always actually shooting out load when i hear the insurance prices of under £500 for a Ducati 1299 , i actually really want to buy a panigale but insurance is a big worry for me 32 years old 3 years no claim and my current bike 1200s multistrada dvt even that one cost £800 so 1299 will cost me an arm or leg. i have been in UK 10 years riding and commuting 10 years in London never ever use a insurance for a claim ! how ever when somebody crash me from behind at 2010 although my bike didn't have too much repair just a panel change by me! i lost my no claim bonuses :) insurance people should be looking after us better. i mean you are senind them this documnets of no claim bonus majority of the time i wonder if they even contact the other insurer to see if its fake or not :) hate fucking insurance people. and then you call them to change something and you wait wait wait. all of them the same they are all cunts

  11. Sorry.... "I am always actually shooting out load". Genius. Crying with laughter. Perhaps you meant "shouting out loud"?

Surely only insurance brokers blow their wad over insurance?

  12. Ok, I might regret this one day but today I put down the deposit on a 1299S that Seastar Ducati had in stock, however still have to wait to the 23rd April to collect, they say too busy to build from crate any sooner and just have to be patient.
I took the 1299S Demo out again to be sure and bugger me 20 mins in and it pissed down(first wet weather ride for 10 years) could not work out how to change to wet mode, rode about 15 or so mile's on winding wet muddy B roads in sport mode, I nearly soiled my leathers on more than one occasion.
I was somewhat surprised that dealer only offered me £3750 in PX for my 996, I dont think bike has ever seen wet roads as very clean under 9k miles regularly serviced, I thought these older Ducati's were creeping up in value? Would love to keep 996 as well but the wife said I only need one bike, part of the aggrement with her to let me get the 1299s is 996 has to go:cry:

Oh Ducati! no extra fast yellow anymore:grinning:

  13. I got a quote for an X Diavel S for £221 fully comp and that's with1 yrs no claims and only having licence for a year! Btw the likes of the Met Police are uninsurable and they get away with it because they underwrite the value of any 3rd party claims, so if you're ridiculously wealthy who needs insurance!

  14. how come i dont understand your post ? are you a met police then ?
