I used 3Bond, no gasket....no leaks. Making a gasket is easy enough, but I would still use 3Bond on it, so why have a gasket......
Some prefer gaskets, so just highlighting the options, some prefer to gunge sealant on - 15% Ducati Forum Discount applies so £14.40 delivered I will be using a gasket on my Bayliss next week
All Ducati's did from around that era onwards yes... that's why Chris had them manufactured as many prefer gaskets.
I'll also give a big shout out for Exige's cable kits..they will make sure you don't knacker your sprag clutch over time too. My 999 starts within 1 second of pressing the starter every single time..great stuff. Cheers Grant
Baines racing do gaskets from previous experienxe, Id second using threebond though. Just my preferred option
All sorted, stripped the starter on the bench cleaned it down and replaced the brushes (very fiddly, but worth it to save money on new motor). Tested again on the bench with new brushes and all worked well. Refit everything to the bike, it now starts on the button, thanks for everyone's help!
