  2. Rock up with a van and a couple of mates, and balance your books with some stock.

    Too late now but...

  3. I wonder if this was a pre-pack administration, meaning that Stuart Garner will soon rise phoenix-like from the ashes and carry on as before (but minus the debts, obviously)? Maybe he could call the new company Norton Motors (2020) Ltd.

  4. Maybe his wife has bought the company for a penny already?

  5. Doesn’t detract from that he was the best of the cheats amongst lots of other cheats. They all cheated. They still do. That’s cycling

  6. Guarantee that’s under a different co name.

  7. Like MG Rover, who thought it funny to trade as Phoenix Trading Ltd (or similar)

  8. Once you bankrupt others by taking them to court, knowing all the time they are telling the truth, you need to be jailed for a fair amount of time in my view. Armstrong got off lightly.

Once Armstrongs transgressions were revealed to the world, there was no possibility of the sport not stripping him of all medals, without their looking like fools.

If the current cyclists are cheating, with their actions proven, the same should apply. Just like the Russian National Teams...

  9. True. Trouble is they were all cheating so not to do something would get him banned.

I think they should be allowed whatever they want btw. Their bodies. Equal playing field.

But I also believe closing a business then reopening without its debts should be illegal.

  11. I agree, provided there would be a two championships, one for the enhanced competitors, and one for the regular unimproved folks.

  12. But some in the unimproved would cheat.

  13. It is but the bank lendings will almost certainly be secured with the property.

The Norton accounts have so many uncertainties in valuations highlighted by the auditors that the Company balance sheet means nothing.

  14. Pretty sure when I checked there were several norton companies. You understand these things better than I do; worth a check.

  16. That's a shame.
I feel sorry for those who have paid full price.

I'm also a little sad that the bike I had hoped might turn up one day almost certainly wont now :pensive:

  17. At the thought of having a 30K ornament sitting in my garage i'm in a way relieved i never got my rr. Still an ss up for sale at the "Bike Specialists" (What a beauty!) wonder if it will be taking up permanent residence? It will be interesting if we start to hear from former employees (sadly) about what had been going on behind the scenes over the past 18mths -2yrs as to when the writing was on the wall. Finally, just finished watching FarmerTorque's Vlog again from the Norton stand at the NEC last year, what a fabulous collection of bikes. Should have been a real success story!!!
