The bushes in the shock are pretty robust. The more usual area to find any play is in the alloy bushings in the link rod ends. Worth checking those first?
Hi Nelly, I'm still loving it ! With the back wheel off the ground you can see the play at the bottom of the shock, the swing arm moves up and down but the shock doesn't move. We're only talking a tiny bit of movement but it was enough to be picked up by my MoT man as something that should be done.
And now we're a mono-posto ! I need to re-fix some of the mesh as it isn't quite right and the 'alcantara' seat cover isn't alcantara so that'll have to be changed again but you get the idea
Interesting what you say about the Monster, I had lovely Monster, an air-cooled 800, only a few thousand miles on the clock, and my ageing 748. The smart play was to to sell the 748, and keep the newer and more comfy Monster for my old age. But if course, I didn't do that, and sold the Monster for a song! After I don't really regret it!
