Just a thought, but hustling an 1199S round a track in novice group is quite a challenge that is unlikely to fulfill your dreams. I would hate to think you are going to sell it because you are not enjoying it. It is an amazing bike, you might have just gone about it wrongly. If you can, get a smaller, lighter bike with less frightening power. Learn to ride the nuts off it, late braking, carry corner speed, early on the gas. Then take what you learnt there and apply to the 1199S.
Yes at CSS. He then spotted me at Cartagena last month, came over, said hello, followed me a bit during the day, gave me a couple of tips and took 4 seconds (1:56 to 1:52) off my lap time (748R). Booked 3 days with in Aragon May 3-5th.
Brake later, gas earlier ??? ;-) So Aragon is fully booked and I know Chris has all 6 slots in his clinic sorted so will be a good trip ....
I appreciate this seems in it's original intent, a for sale thread but we are seeing a few of the same line of late. I wonder if the top end models which now seem to be more and more track focused, are the problem? They aren't a lot of fun on the road as much as they should be and on the track it seems to be a continual chasing the dragon so to speak. I wonder, if it's worth getting rid of the higher cc models and going for a smaller model which might return the fun of the chase? I mentioned before when looking for a gixxer, I rode a 1000 and the 750 and whilst the 1000 absolutely was sheer adrenaline, after a while it was little more than point and squirt, I didn't enjoy it that much. The 750 however gave more rider involvement, satisfaction and dare I say it, fun.
Totally with you on that one. My largest track ride is an 899. I always get crushed on the straights, but catch up on the braking and corners. I seem to be either middle or fast group these days.
