November 2015 Europe Tour

  1. may well be, time dependent.

  2. If you're going to Valencia (why?), the CM-2105 from Cuenca to CM-2106 to Molina de Aragon is quite nice, as a bit of a detour on the way back, depending on how much time you've got. "Bike" magazine recommends the N-111 from Soria to Logrono, but I prefer the slower routes from Cidones to Viniegra to join the LR-113 (good road) at Vienta de Viniegra (some bits of this are very rough, so I'm assuming a Multistrada rather than a 748, because this might be shaken to bits) or join up with the LR-113 from San Leonardo de Yague. All of this is at altitude, so the weather might not be good enough in November and the roads are fairly minor, so watch out.

The N120 from Logrono to Burgos is a bore, but the N-623 from here to Santander is gorgeous, until you get to Puente Viesgo.

  3. anything more than 250 miles in a day, if twisty, is tough going specially when you start later/end earlier because of the time of year

  4. I set my limit to 200 without motorways, that equates to around 5 hours in the road. Allow for a break every 2 hours etc makes it a steady day so you can enjoy your destination. Surely it is all about the ride?

  5. Yeah that makes sense, don't want to be riding in to the dark for no reason, will take that in to account when I'm planning the route!
