Novice Only And Taster Track Days

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Android853sp, Jan 27, 2015.

  1. I've been to 2 before and never had any issues, albeit in a car. Spoken to loads of bikers and they have never said it was a bad thing cars were there in regards to track condition. If you want to go to a novice day, I wouldn't be put off by cars being there. I'll certainly be taking my bike on one this year.

  3. I did a novice only at oulton last year having only 1 previous track day under my belt.

First off cars and bikes are on track at different times...and I had 6/7 20 min sessions at oulton with msv.

The added bonus of these over the normal novice-inters-fast is that cones are placed around the entire track indicating tip point and apex at every bend. This was a huge help to me and my riding moved on massively compared to my first ever track day at the same place. Simply join the cones ...dot to dot and it was a breeze, faster every lap, more confident..a few track days later without the cones and I am cracking along nicely. Moving in to inters after 4 track days at novice as I feel comfortable, I don't think I would have felt as comfortable without the novice only day.

I highly recommend it...brilliant, follow that with a session coached by one of the instructors ( £25 with msv but free with no limits).

  4. spionkop, were you at the one towards the end of last year at Oulton?

  5. I am going to book one of these sessions. Not on bike, with the car. See if a diesel is quick or not.

  6. my mrs said if i want a cheap trackbike then i should do it. hmmm, i reckon shes got a plan or something as never had a green light so easily.

I can borrow a van from work each time so its viable for me to do a few trackdays if i like it.
