  1. no expert to be honest. both of mine on the hole have been v.good. had an intermittent fault with the mutly or fugly as they have been come to be known but once diagnosed. both v.good. between the two 20k in last 4 years. my advise don't wash it.

  2. Food for thought like to keep them clean as I use them most of the year Don't really want a sparks nightmare thought they had lost the infamous Italian electrics tag

  12. It may not be comparing like with like but I went from a 1050 Speed Triple to a 1098 Streetfighter. The Triumph was great bike but it left me feeling something was missing. There's this great bulging torque curve but then I was anticipating a top-end rush that never came. The Ducati has all that torque, but even more so, and a screaming top-end to go with it.
If the Fugly is anything like the SF you'll find it revvier than the Triumph, though you need to see the needle climb on the clocks to fully appreciate how quickly it builds revs because the engine tone doesn't change as noticably as triples and fours do. You just get immense forward velocity from apparently nowhere. (Until, in the SF's case, you get to 8K, then its a different animal altogether). Don't know how the ST compares but the SF is best kept above 3.5K. Don't be afraid to rev it. Ducatis aren't like V twins. They love to be revved and they won't run out of steam. Enjoy.

  13. I went from a T595 to a 916. Chalk and cheese. The 595 was a hoon and liked being ragged, the 916 needs more subtle and smoother operation. I miss the 595. I parked into teh side of a van. Great fun bike though, loved the rasp and had awesome (for me) mid range. The triple is a great engine. The V twin is better though. :upyeah:
