Well well. After phone and email contact with the seller/owner? I mad a genuine offer to buy, with funds immediately available.Could I have a land line contact no and assurances on various aspects of the machines provenance. All I received was an email from the ebayer, the owners sister, who is selling via her acct, that there were 3 viewings this week.No answers to my questions.the machine was not on ebay this morning-and has now re appeared.Could all be very innocent stuff-I however have now lost all interest.
Too many eBay sellers clam up when asking real questions. Unfortunately it is still the wild west of selling, and while you get some decent sellers, if more often than not populated by cowboys
If the bike had been for sale locally,I would have gone round, checked out seller and machine, and gone on from there. I explained to this buyer that I couldn't view the bike, was very much interested and could close the deal rapidly. He could have answered my questions on the phone,or email, but didn't.Very strange. I went all the way up to North Cumbria to collect my MH,which I bought unseen on ebay. The seller couldn't have been more helpful during the negotiations. As you say, there are some unusual people on ebay. l
Guess what? The bike was suddenly gone again yesterday, hey presto it is back again today.Relisted due to a time waster. How very strange that the owner has not come to me as a buyer?
Seller sounds like a twat. I had the same experience you mentioned above when I purchased my 916SPS unseen off ebay.Seller answered all my questions and was very helpful.I drove down to meet him at ducati shop after he had it serviced.Paid cashDeal done. Some of these sellers would struggle selling a t shirt if that's the way they go about it never mind a £10,000 Ducati 999R. Give Ducati cov/JHP a call and ask for John Burrows(service manager). He will know if there customer is still selling a 06 999R Xerox rep.
Yeah, i read that but we scooterists or ex scooterists of days yonder would not consider that a 'true scooter'. Anything after a P200E is a bag o shite. Even the PX200E. Any PX Vespa really. As for Lambrettas well we couldnt throw Li125's and 150's away fast enough. (Li150 Pacemaker excluded as we knicked the gearboxes out of them and binned the rest). Indian or Spanish Servetta 'Lambretta's' are also shite. Its 'Innocenti' or nothing. But standards have fallen since I gave up the scene and now any old scoot is fine. Only the Italjet Dragster or the Gilera Runner modern day scoots have what it takes. I am a Lambretta fan and it was GP200's that floated my boat. Styled by Bertone. You can shove SX200's. Oh and dont get me started on Jetstreams and LDB's.
mmm...used to love castrol R. And Silkolene. My final GP225 was 25:1 mixture. Would smoke like a chimney but smelt lovely.
Well, the trying to buy the Xerox 999 came to nothing.Despite my requests for some basic info which were never answered, and my assurance of direct payment,I didn't get it. Mind you I soon lost interest as it must have popped up and off Ebay at least 4 times.
Maybe it was the old chestnut of pretending to sell something on eBay to keep someone happy, but having no intention of actually doing so...
