Yep.. he was a great student of the early fighters and was great at cutting off the ring and giving opponents no space. A bit of a Joe Louis stalker always moving forward. Combine this with his low crouching peek a boo low style and devil may care attacks that used his fantastic speed, aggression and power - it's no wonder it confused opponents. A fool to himself though.

I think the loss of Cus D'Amato was a big blow to Tyson as he was someone he saw as, and probably he was, a father figure. He first took him under his wing when young, around 13 or so, and died when he was 20.
IIRC Bill Cayton was his manager. Or Bill Satan as Don King called him. King managed to charm Iron Mike under his wing and I think things went down hill from there really. Cue Robin Givens then all hell let loose… And Desiree Washington? It’s all coming back… 5 years in the slammer. Never a dull moment
Tysoe was brilliant to watch when he was young ,but he was fighting nobodies and has beens. When ever he came up against anyone at the top of the game he stuggled
That guy was unbelievably irritating even with the sound off. While I would never condone violence, the former astronaut demonstrated admirable restraint and then, when the wheel came off and he let his hands go, textbook technique. He also taught him a lesson, as that was a perfect demonstration of all 3 of Newton’s Laws of Motion.
Yeah, you can only beat what is put in front of you and there wasn't much during his time but I do know exactly what you mean. He did put away Berbick & Spinks in short order but struggled against a hard hitting Donovan Ruddock and Holyfield. Larry Holmes was ring rusty & 38 when he fought him and as for Bruno.... I’m with @comfysofa here. I’m not sure which is the worse, boxing itself, where the object of the exercise is to cause brain damage, or the spectators who watch said brain damage being inflicted. I just don’t get it.
