Here are views of older database releases, that should confirm the incremental aspect of things: This is release 2.0 There I don’t have any release number on the page but it looks like it could be release 3.0, imho: To be compared with release 10 (1.0?) I published in a post above.
Great information, thank you! If they are both CDS-05 units, are they the same except for the old Gagiva Ducati logo and Mathesis offset to the corner, or are they different firmware versions? I pinged Desmomarket yesterday on FB and Alessandro informed me it was not available. It's the older looking unit anyway so I'm ok with that. I sent Raymond a FB message. We'll see how that goes. He has the newer version and even if the manual and data cards are in Italian, as long as the rest of there, I'll source the English versions later. I'll keep John's kit in mind, perhaps if I find another kit with cases and missing cables, I'll buy it and his to try and make a good single kit out of them and sell off the extras. Aside from that, I've reached out to a vendor in Japan, but I think it's out of stock and listed by mistake, and I have setup eBay worldwide alerts as usual. I'm in no hurry and I think this will be a fun chase over the next few years.
@rocotrix - Did you ever get a response from this seller on his kit? https://www.speedzilla.com/threads/ducati-mathesis-for-sale.55696/
I never got an answer about the announcement of the one who placed the ad on speedzilla, or the one who left the message in 2021. And between us 3000 dollars for a mathesis is much too expensive, on the market it takes between 1200 and maximum 1500€ the probability of finding a complete set in good condition is unlikely you’ll have a better chance of finding it by reconstructing it from several pieces for my part I made one, and I find myself today with 4 CDS-05 (I will send you photos to show you the difference ) of different years, and it lacks only the strap tension suitcase, and to make a small or large suitcase in good condition. If I do not move this belt tension case, I will still have the solution to use a TEXA TTC Ducati. as for desmomarket, you also have the other store number +39 391 418 6649 still by whatsapp for the mathesis set of Ryan'o I know that it is a set that comes from a small French garage that closed, and are other set comes from the United States for what Raymond had a complete set and a 2nd almost complete, and at the end of last year he made a relaunch on facebook to someone who sold one in the US for 1000 dollars but it was missing the pressure suitcase, I think it was him who bought it because the ad stayed a short time
as for the listing on ebay kleinanzeigen, it is someone who put the picture of the listing of speedzilla, to illustrate his search he wants to buy one too, he doesn’t sell one a Ducati dealership in Italy lost the Ducati distribution and returned its complete Mathesis kit (the big suitcase + the 2 small ones, with a 3rd small suitcase full of cables in duplicate with all the memory cards) for 1500€ - the announcement remained online 48H
I agree $3,000 was too much, that's why I figured they may still have it after all these years I'll try that WhatsApp #, thanks. I'll keep Ryan's in mind, even tho it's an older unit, it would be a good start to combine with say what John has if he will sell, etc. to piece together a kit if Raymond doesn't work out.
So after interacting with a few sellers so far (I posted wanted ads on FB), I've gleaned a couple of things. First, I'm not sure of the exact cutover date from the older handhelds with the Cagiva Ducati logo, but the oldest of the newer versions I've found is dated 1998 and came with version 0.5. Version 0.7 appears to be a 2001 release, version 8 was in 2003, and version 0.9 about 2005. These are all ballparks. After that, it appears to be just card version updates you could get, no further revisions of the complete kit P/Ns. The latest of these I've come across is a version 11 card. I have pictures and prices from 3 sellers so far and have about 3 others I'm waiting on. Half of the responses have been scammers. Once I close a deal on one, if I do, then I'll update the thread with other sellers and images to repay in kind for the leads I was given. The only complete kit I've found so far is an Italian one, and the only English Mathesis I've found is missing the tensioner and pressure kit. Then of course a few variations in between (French, German) only with various bits, not complete kits - yet. I of course REALLY want a complete genuine English kit, but it looks like I'll have to settle for a non-English then have to track down the English manual and version cards. IF I can afford it, I'm going to try and buy a complete kit + another Mathesis kit and hopefully another tensioner and pressure kit from various sellers. Then I can go through and pick the best components of everything to make the best single kit I can, then I'll sell off the extras.
I see you’re wasting no time, congratulations for my part I have news of ryan, he must send me photos of what he sells exactly, and wait for a quote in return, I will share with you the reception
Nope, not wasting any time. I may end up with Raymond's kit and spares. Depends on what other options appear, prices, etc. The fact Ray is in California where I am helps, I may pick it all up in person.
I closed a deal with Ray here in California for his matching 2001 0.7 Italian kit. Even the year printed on the hoses in the pressure kit say 2001 and haven't been swapped around. It's missing the foam for the lid of the Mathesis case and there is electrical tape on the connector for the belt tensioner sensor. But other than that, it seems to be in order. It comes with the ITA 0.6, 0.7, and 10 cards. He is including a version 10 ING/English card and says it comes with an English manual with some Italian tabs. I'm going to pick it up in person on Sunday. He was a good guy to deal with and the fact it saves me shipping, I can inspect it, it's a correct P/N matching kit, and a 2001 release kit to match my 996R, it was worth it to me. So I'm on the lookout for another ITA Mathesis I can get the foam, full ITA manual, and maybe a nicer handheld from. Also, an ITA tensioner kit to swap out my sensor with. ......I'll also be lurking in the background of the internet waiting for a complete matching English 2001 0.7 kit to buy... someday.... then and only then, I may sell this Italian kit.
Well, I stumbled upon a couple of NOS bits: 887651376A - BELT TENS.KIT+CARD 08 ITALIAN 887651236 - PRESSURE KIT 06 ITALIAN So that will get me a new belt sensor to replace mine that has electrical tape lol, and the pressure kit.... well I just couldn't resist it because it was NOS, period correct for 2000/2001, and from the same seller so it combined shipping Is there a support group for Mathesis kit purchasing addicts
I told you this may turn into a highly addictive quest. Wait until you plug your Mathesis to your bike’s ECU and you start communicating with it. Esoteric experience…
Here is a German kit that was listed for sale yesterday: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/ducati-mathesis-diagnosetester-ecu/2718161349-306-18813 Appears to be a cluster of parts so hard pass for me. Not that I'm looking for a German one anyway. But might help someone else. Here is the guys FB in case you can't register for that site: https://www.facebook.com/Ducatista13 I have info on an English handheld kit only that's a little rough I'm thinking of passing on. If I do, I'll post it here. Seller said he would take US$600 and is located in Italy. I still have 2 other solid leads I'm working as well, one UK and one Australia.
It’s an early set (single case - v0,4), from July 1997. I found it in Italy via the bay, when a Ducati Shop closed. Perfect match for my 916 SP3.
Can anyone please post a picture of what the correct Tecnomotor printer would have looked like that the Ducati Mathesis could plug into? Maybe Tecnomotor didn't make a printer and Ducati dealerships used another make? The connector on the top of the handheld looks like some sort of SCSI printer connection but not one I'm familiar with so I'm not even sure if it's proprietary or not. I'm looking for a starting place lol. Thanks!
