  1. Yep, got one of those to. None of the fishing line with weight dangly, dangly.

  2. Before battery power?

  3. You Ole’ boys had it easy with calculators. When I did my 7 years day release at Cambridge Tech in the 60s it was log tables or 10” slide rule. Less than 10 years later I found my slide rule as one of the exhibits in the Science Museum in West Ken.

  4. Here's my old kettle I have had for donkeys!

  5. Yes plug power :)

  6. I missed by 1 year the exams where you were allowed log tables and calculators. They still taught us how to use a log table.... Haven't done it once since School.
I use a slide rule everyday....

  8. Makita started in 1915 so could be 100 yrs old. Presumably it uses a number of 2v lead acid accumulators in parallel, similar to those used to light gas taps in the old physics lab.....however, I don't think the case is original as it should be in a leather satchel or similar.

  9. Got my Grandad's drill brace same as yours @Birdie.
My Dad's Wolf electric drill which is nearly as old as me, I certainly remember him using it in the '70s.
    A'94 900SS with 72,000 on.
    Slide rule from school days.
I could go on, I'm not a hoarder, but I don't throw it away if it can be mended.
