I vaguely remember my dad using one, before buying his 1st Black & Decker drill in the early 70's. Proud as punch of it, he was. He had it for years and it was not like the Black and Decker cheap plastic stuff of today. Cast metal and strudy as hell. Ha. A quick search and they are on ebay. How many plastic ones will still be going after the same period of time?
I have my grandads old gramophone - still working though takes a while to warm ( don’t we all ) Still have the warranty paperwork - not sure they would still honour it now though - that’s the problem now a days nothing lasts
I've got all the recipts for every car my old man bought from the late 50's up to his last one in 2008, also a book of petrol coupons issued in the early seventies fuel crisis but never brought into use. He was/is a bit of a hoarder.
I am still using a Moulinex electric carving knife I bought as a Xmas present for my parents with Green Shield stamps in ‘75. The knife has outlasted the parents and still works perfectly
I bought one for my parents many moons ago and it was still in use this Christmas lunch, we laughed when I said, is that still going. The electric knife not my mother. Steve
