My dad's got a week away up that way. I think they have tickets for Sunday?. About 8 of them with old British bikes
Yes, I know. I've been stood on that hill in horizontal rain in the past and they race..... It's a grim watch though.
When a group of us used to go, for some reason, tracking down the pub with Danny Wilde playing in become compulsory. I thought that he was rubbish but after the first five pints, nothing mattered! And the chips with gravy that most food sellers did, where brilliant! Used to walk round the whole course over the weekend. It is an insane place to race, but plenty do! http://www.upforit-site.co.uk/Upforit_Danny_Wilde.html
We used to go up by car and it p1ssed me off! I said let's go by motorbike and about six of us set off. Didn't make it past the Fosse way when one got knocked off his bike. We all ended up in Cirencester Hospital waiting for him! I went home and got my Ford Galaxy and took everyone in that. So much for my idea of going up on bikes!
Doubt whether I'll be mobile this year, but all of these pictures bring back good memories. I'm gonna go back once I get my driving license back! It's not a group trip anymore but feck it, I'm gonna do it! Did I say that I once saw Jimmy Saville there?
No rain overnight and none forecast until late afternoon so fingers crossed. 600 race should be a cracker Johnston and Harrison are flying.
My phone battery went flat unfortunately but if you have Facebook there’s an Oliver’s mount fan page with loads of photos and videos. The TV cameras were there so hopefully a highlights program soon.
