  1. foock ....
this is one of those times when one hates to be right...

you did go off and you did go off hard... shite shite shite...

I'l glad you're not dead as i expressed my concerns for here... :)

i started worrying when i read 'red mist' in your post..

but hey... no guts , no glory... and age will get the better of you in the end... :)

so don't worry to much, get well soon and heed the lesson...
and please don't show any pics of the 999....

would be to much hurt to carry ...

    grtz

  2. How's that work then, not seen many 900ss's beat 999's

Anyway I was hoping to take the piss in this thread when you found out your real level, but you buggered that so gws fella :)

  3. Let's get you fixed up first even before you contemplate another trackday or racing, DD is a blast though, you'd be surprised how fast a little bike can go, but Im sure I explained that earlier on. I nearly had a huge high side in a race at CC in the first chicane on my DD bike, cold tyres mainly but even 60 HP can spit you off.

  4. Craig is 10 secs quicker on his 996 than his DD bike

  5. you sure are winning "most active thread in a very long time" hands down! :)

  6. Yes but craigs been on track for years. Terry's first time or 2nd.
And its a 900ss in the pic.

  7. Il haft to think of something els crazy to do. then I can write about it here again. I guess my next thread will be "the rebuild of my 999s" with a few posts in the wanted section. Lol

  8. Like few others I followed the thread without contributing as I've never done a track day let alone racing of any kind. Shame it ended this way bbut the most important thing is that you're still in one piece. Bike can be fixed and injuries will heal... just give yourself plenty of time for recovery.
    All the best!

  9. I think your next thread should be 'I've checked the oil on my 999 and set the tyre pressures, next week I'm doing a full rebuild at Ducati Corse to WSB Spec' ;)

  10. got some stuff lying around from my little project..! ... :)

  11. How is the bike?

  12. What parts are you after now?

  14. And you might be wanting some advice about where to bolt your tax disc...

  15. Foolishly I've been relying in the built in back protection in my leathers. Reading this I've gone and bought a back protector.

    Hope you get well soon.

    Matt

now the flaming can start for my stupidity in not wearing one in the first place!

  16. Finished spending on the MTB so may see what I can treat it to over the winter. Really need to get a slipper clutch

  17. I used to rely on them too, until my mate was paralysed just below his arms by an uninsured barryboy making an illegal u-turn. The supplied "protector" fell apart and although it's hard to prove, a better one that would have stayed together might well have saved his mobility. Dainese Wave for me nowadays, I'm even thinking about a Leatt neck brace.

  18. My recent SMIDSY into a wall albeit low speed displayed the vurtue of good kit, leathers are intact without much damage (A-Stars), gloves again barely a mark on them (A-Stars GP-Pro), the boots took some of the brunt, scuffed but intact (A-Stars Supertech R) my back protector although standard in the leathers is an A-Stars vertabrae type system, I've got a couple of compressed fractures which still give me some grief but without that one item I'm convinced I would be in a wheelchair right now.

  19. Hi TT. I've just read my way through this thread and would like to add my get well wishes.

    Keith.
