^ I agree! - looks awesome but I think that (for me) the awesomeness comes mainly because it's a refreshing*change from red. I saw a Panigale in yellow at a Brighton bike fest about 3 years ago and I couldn't stop looking at it and it's "shapes" - it was as though I was seeing it with a fresh* approach. *repetition
Whilst I was humming and hah-ing about buying the (then) new 999, I happened across a yellow 999 parked in a street in Sienna, Italy. It looked utterly beautiful. I opted for a red in the end, for practical purposes, but I will never forget the sight of that yellow T9.
Black and gold like my late 70's Darmah and 900 GTS were. Traditional Ducati colours back in the day. They in turn were chosen by me as being redolent of my lovely old Velocettes. If not black and gold, then yellow gets my vote.
I started with a Black and Silver 848 Evo Corse SE - bought a complete set of bodywork so that I could paint it what I wanted (Red for db) and kept the originals in the garage. That way if I ever sell her I can revert back to standard...
I vote pearl white. Best colour for 848/1098/1198 imo. Base model as dark frame looks better than the red of the 'S'. Again only my opinion. Coz adding black bits sets it all off.
