  1. I believe smearing Essence of Sunak has a similar effect

  5. So do lefties…

  6. No. They dont. See many left wing bazillionaires? Is it the left hoarding the money? Is it the left controlling the media? Is it the left attacking democracy? Suck up to Trump and his ilk. It suits you.

  7. Fuck off. This is about Orcas. Go and have a rant on speakers corner :):upyeah:

  8. In the interests of balance, George Soros, Michael Bloomberg and Reid Hoffman are leftie billionaires. Sam Bankman Fraud would have also fitted that description until it was discovered he was basically just trousering other peoples crypto o_O

  9. I thought that business with the owls was a bit odd - that explains it !:upyeah:

The yacht is called SYMPHONY - UK registered MMSI 235082107. She is currently heading west for Brest. You can track the vessel on MARINE TRACKER APP. The picture in the thread was taken a few weeks ago off the coast of Sark.

Sounds like easy pickings for them - no need to chase the tuna that are ready to be eaten.

They sound like a nightmare - big, clever, predators that hunt in a pack. Glad they live - under the water :D

    Wow, amazing video....

Or mash it up somehow and soak it into something and trail that over the side ( remembering not to rub it in your eyes !). Could be on to something, they use pepper spray to defend against Grizzlies

Good work - a proven handy household tip indeed. I was stung by a Jasper last summer - it stung me three times as it went down the inside of my T Shirt before i realised what was going on ! - Sadly tt didn't survive completely unscathed !

For the Killer Whales - since they are clever perhaps - " No Killer Whales - Penalty £50 " :D

Not sure I ever want to get close to one in the wild, especially viewing from any kind of small boat !

  10. I don’t think there’s ever been a case of an Orca attacking a human, in the wild that is. There’s some breathtaking footage on YouTube.

Questionable navigation. If your mate is heading to Brest en route to Madeira, they shouldn’t be going anywhere near Gibraltar. Unless they’re female maybe :yum

  11. What a brilliant idea. I reckon the painting of the hull, AND the chilli sauce, they’ll be absolutely fine. Let us know how they get on.

  12. A short sighted Orca who likes spicy food might think its an underwater version of Tinder. Buyer beware!

  13. Agreed they seem to not want to eat humans particularly, or even attack humans. But they are attacking boats - which is naughty of them and they must be dissuaded in a non-harmful way.

I think the idea of his sailing trip is to enjoy the journey rather than being a race. I know he wanted to stop in Portugal and maybe even Gibraltar on the way down. And why not, except for a bunch of naughty fishes (yes, mammals ) in the way.

Thank you for the positivity !!

I am going to ask a mate to draw a design - good at drawing he is - and see what he comes up with. He is on holiday at the moment so will ask him when he gets back. ;)

  14. If ever I had a sailing boat I don’t think I’d ever leave the Mediterranean. Loads of nice countries and no pirates as far as I know… But alas, there’s no chance. The Mrs isn’t too clever with the sea sickness. Pah…

  15. I know a boat can't generate much current but an A.C. introduced via a metal grid on the rudder could work wonders, it's not my idea, i've seen this and many battery-discharge related tests carried out to deter sharks although maybe Orca "sonar" etc is very different.

  16. Fickle winds, expensive marinas, (expensive everything actually) lots of paperwork & permit requirements, loads of boats/ shipping everywhere. Not saying its awful, but there's far better sailing elsewhere. Caribbean, Pacific, Australia, S.E Asia spring to mind...

  18. Well if you must!

When I sailed up past that area, it was great when it got dark, as the chances of being spotted & and therefore robbed, kidnapped and maybe murdered reduced for 12 hours. No one used their nav lights or radios. Commercial ships came past with their fire hoses pumping full blast all the time - ready to repel crazy scumbags.

To give you some perspective, making landfall in Salalah (Omani container cargo port) was a cause for celebration!
