Bit of good news last night. After a fair bit of faffing about and a load of idiots wasting my time I sold the GSXR last night to a nice dude from Ayrshire. He'll be back to collect it during the week with the balance of the cash. I loved that bike, had done a lot of awesome things with it, covered 19k miles since I bought it new and am happy it's going to a decent home. Was a bit weird seeing the guy and his mate talking about what they wanted to do to make the bike the way he wanted it... I've always part exchanged before. Really chuffed that I can now stick the cash in the bank, sit tight over winter without the guilt of an unused bike sitting there and focus on getting everything in place for the 848 arriving.
Yeah, I certainly am. Still have a nagging in my mind that something's going to go wrong somewhere. Just realised that once he picks the bike up it'll be the first time I've ever not had a bike in the garage since I started riding at 19 in 1999...
The guy came and collected it today. He had a mate, a van, a huge pile of 20s and a massive smile on his face! I was really expecting it to end up a pain in the ass, but it was totally hassle free and he did everything he said he would, turned up when he said he would and all that. Really hope he enjoys the bike!
Was in Ducati Glasgow last weekend as I was passing by so I was chatting away to them about the NEC and what I thought of the new 848 Corse having seen it in the flesh. They had said that they'd decided to order one in for "stock" so that customers could see it in the flesh in store as it were. They also offered to call / email me when this one arrived so that I could go and see it again and spend a bit of time looking at it with them rather than the limited chance that you get at bike shows like the NEC. I'd forgotten about this and figured it would be a few weeks away, but I got an email this morning from them saying that it had arrived. From the sound of it, it was only there 5 minutes before the email! Anyway, they offered to send me some pics and invited me in to see it this weekend once it's ready for display. I can't manage this weekend as it happens but will be able to go next week instead. I am absolutely delighted with their service and overall attention and attitude so far. It should also bode well for my bike arriving in plenty time for the delivery date I've requested. It might seem silly, but I'm over the moon with the dealings I've had with Ducati Glasgow so far. I really can't wait for March now!
Ducati Glasgow are superb.... I am as far south in the Country as you can go really and when I mentioned a few years back to Martin that we were holidaying in Scotland he said pop in. We were there ages, got a full tour of the shop even the dark bits where you can hear the trains. Wonderful people and lovely family atmosphere......
Is the tank 18l then? Must admit having only covered about 400 miles on my 1198, the small tank is the biggest pain!
It's an 18 litre tank aye. 2.5 extra litres in the 2013 model. Thankfully! My GSXR had a 16.5 litre tank and I wouldn't want a smaller one really. It was one thing I was unsure about when I ordered so the extra capacity is a great bonus.
Forgot, exactly as they said they would I got a pile of pics this afternoon. This model looks better the more I see it. They've said mine will be in there in plenty time for my order date. Absolutely delighted. Is it Spring yet?
