Good point, and no I didn't. I suppose there are some connoisseurs out there who would pay a premium for such things so it wouldn't have surprised me if he was doing that.
saw a car program a few years back making an argument for not restoring old stuff because it's just not possible to make the paint as was, etc.
My Almost totally non-standard 999S,all the OE parts are in storage if I ever want to put it back to original...I've had anal persons come up to me in the past saying this isn't as it should be and that part isn't standard, i even told one bloke to fuck off once...the bike is modified to HOW I LIKE IT.
My drug is buying modified bikes and set them back to original, just th huge numberplate holders will be removed. That's the way I like it, but I also can enjoy watching pimped bikes of fellow bikers, no problem with that
There is another reason to modify; Injury. I've had to put risers and pulled the bars back on my Mutley PP. This is due to neither left nor right arms being able to be 100% straight. Radial head replacement following a fall from a roof while working and awaiting a left arm radial head replacement following a misdiagnosed broken arm. If your bike is a classic and you intend selling it as one then original will command the highest price. Personally I see these mods on the PP as vital. Upgraded front calipers and matching lines. Bleed nipple at various points to remove air with Rbf600 fluid. Decat and air box mods A cjs remap. Ohlins steering damper. Quickshifter New foot levers. Larger Sidestand foot. Single seat cowl Saddlman seat Gold chain Uprated sprockets sized for acceleration. And 99RON Super unleaded.
