Its common place in the media to call people liars and far worse all the time. The BBC do it on the news regularly, as do all the tabloids. The difference in this instance is a loud vocal minority who support Markel unquestionably. I'm certainly not saying she is a liar, nor that her supporters are wrong. I would question blind faith where ever I find it. Morgan? It will be interesting -far more interesting to me- to see what he does next than any Windsor-Mountbatten popularity contest.

I have little interest in the Harry/Meghan story, it will play out as it has to. Personally I think he’s foolish to publicly trash his family like that but whatever. However as this is a journalism thread, I do have something to say on Piers Morgan. I’ll try and see the best in people & have many friends of all political persuasions. I even know a Flat Earther that I can chat to quite reasonably as long as we’re not talking about that nutball topic. I didn’t automatically disagree with everything that PM ever said but hated the aggressive me me me way he attacked everyone, asking for yes or no answers to people that could not possibly answer with a yes or no & then constantly belittling them & talking over them, pushing his own agenda & not letting them attempt to answer, even if it is just to hang themselves. That is not good journalism, that is self aggrandising bully boy tactics & many guests have called him out live on air about it including his friend Trisha Goddard this week. He creates hatred in the masses who see a person squirming because they physically can’t answer his biased leading questions the way he personally wants it answered. He’s also a huge hypocrite who’s past history as a tabloid editor (before he left that profession in disgrace) would probably get him jailed nowadays-Tapping the phone of a dead schoolgirl, posting fake pictures of British serviceman & so on. The man is a disgrace to his profession & a deeply unpleasant individual. That it took a cancel culture moment to get rid is unfortunate because that’s what will be debated. However at least he’s gone, good riddance you odious muppet.
In the end who really cares? H&M jumped ship to avoid the limelight and have done nothing but hog the it since they left; In my book that marks them as hypocrites, attention whores and aspiring "Z" celebrities. They complain that their child will not get a title as if it really means anything to anybody but them, so what, neither does mine. They complain that they will not get protection but fail to realize that they decided to abdicate their duties and responsibilities so they could emigrate to pursue their fortunes; again they want to have their cake and eat it which also marks them as hypocrites. If they want protection buy it, just like any other normal, private citizen. They have a combined net worth of, by my own conservative estimates, of £50 million. I think putting out the begging bowl towards a near bankrupt public purse, in the middle of the worst economic crisis in history, when you are worth that amount of money is disgusting and marks them as a coupe for greedy chancers. For them to then complain about that is beyond the pail and marks them as a couple of petulant, lazy, greedy, immature snowflakes. suicidal thoughts? I've had those, coupled with PTSD, anxiety and depression, I won't bore you with the root cause. If she is suffering from any or all of these issues then nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can do anything about it but her. To claim that she did not receive help for such matters is just not true, all she needed to do was go and see her GP - in my book that marks her as a liar. Racism? it's really all you have to do these days to stop a debate; throw in the race card and it cuts all other discussion dead. It is the modern equivalent of crying "WITCH!". You can't deny it as those shouting "j'accuse" are well aware that the person being accused is fucked, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't; game over. This marks her as a manipulative liar in my book. If it was an issue why didn't' she raise it in the past, officially? It's a good gambit as it automatically marks you as the victim, shuts down debate and enquiry and gets a knee jerk reaction from everyone. If they wish to conduct an assault on their family in the public domain let them. If they wish to destroy what they have then crack on. If they wish to be seen as a couple of lazy, greedy, whining children then who are we to stop them. However, in my mind the real issue is this: Yet again we are presented with these spoiled, over-privileged nare-do-wells squabbling over their wealth and position, whilst the economy crumbles and people die like flies. It is a perfect illustration that they lack awareness, empathy and an ounce of humility, it has always been thus, we are little people to provide fodder and money. Enough is enough, it is time we had a serious national debate about the whole system. It is offensive enough to witness their arrogance and self entitlement. It is doubly so when we consider that they are unelected, unaccountable and can do as they please. Now is the time to vote to change the system. To inherit position and wealth as a birth right is wrong. To inherit titles is wrong. To inherit power over you and I is wrong. To expect the tax payer to fund your life is wrong. The entire system is out dated and anachronistic. They have had a good run at it over the last millennium and all the thieving, murderous shenanigans that went with it but now a new system is required, based on merit and achievement and is fit for the future of us all.

Does it matter if I watched the interview or not? I stand by my opinions and my conclusion; it is far past the time that we got rid of the whole bloody lot of them and moved into the 21st century. This is nothing more than a media circus as usual with all parties jockeying for position and attempting to spin it all in their favour, I have nothing but contempt for anybody that does that whatever the colour, creed, agenda or motive is. It is a further example of collective hypocrisy when individuals cry foul against the media, spit the dummy, leave and then complain after the fact in the media that they so obviously detest; I mean talk about brass neck.
Do you not see the irony of you posting what clearly are very strong opinions about the character and actions of someone you’ve never met in a thread entitled “Our Untrustworthy Media” when the sources for your opinions can only be what you’ve read in the media?
Give the amount of statements made, some are probably verifiable. Perhaps some are known to be untrue/ exaggerated/ loose with the truth?
