I did remove the caliper completely and hold it above the abs while bleeding. I know ideally it should be left overnight but I don't have time. I needed to finish today. I also use a one way valve so when I open the nipple I can constantly pump the brake and fill the reservoir without the need to close the nipple. Thanks a lot for the time you took to reply me.
I own a 2022 MSV4S Sport. The one thing that bugged me was the poor bite and performance of the rear Brembo. I adjusted the plunger rod so that the bite is sooner than how the bike was delivered. Adjusted the stop/brake light switch trigger stop to its minimum. And I fabricated my pedal extension out of aluminum bar stock to raise the pedal height by 13mm. Drilled and tapped it, bolted it to the pedal. The OEM adjustment was not enough for my liking. The new MS Rally has an adjustable rear brake pedal for height. Not sure how much those are, but my little ugly mod works for me so I'm keeping it. I road raced and taught road racing, and used my rear brake for trail braking in turns or to settle the bike when needed. Loads of opinions on using the rear brakes, but what worked for me in late braking is what I did.
Brilliant. I wander if the rally pedal can be mounted on my 2010 model. Also to adjust the rod you need to remove the brake lever. Am I correct?
Oh gosh sorry! I 'assumed' you were talking about the same model as mine. Oops. I'd check to see if the arm is the same as on the V4s. I never looked since I'm frugal and happy with my DIY extender. I also changed my footpegs. I found the OEM ones too narrow for my liking. The SW Motech ones are wider so while standing is more comfortable. And they adjust for pedal height and angle. This is just another option you can look to. They also sell extensions for brake pedals.
Thanks everyone. I bled my brake and still doesn't work. I'm gonna try reverse bleeding this time. Also I would like to add some bleeding nipple on the abs unit. Does anyone know what size should I buy? Thanks. Will this one be correct? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12461140...GHRYlBcR_e&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Just to update on this... https://ibb.co/8DtGktQ I installed a bleed nipple on the abs unit. Mounted Brembo sintered pads. Bled the system few times from the calipers unmounted and left on the top (you don't need to remove the rear wheel for that by the way) I'm still not impressed. The breaking lever feels just spongy.
Finally, does anyone know of is worth putting a bleeding nipple into the abs unit for the front brakes too?
It's not and you are making yourself paranoid. There's a YT channel called the way it is. He services the brakes on a Multistrada. Just watch and follow that and you'll be good. Stop messing about and just ride the bike.
It's not about being practical. The slightest adjustment on the rod has a massive change to the operation of the pedal as it's transmitted to the brake caliper. Just bleed, clean, deglaze the discs and lube the pistons. There's nothing wrong with them once operating as designed.
