1299 Paginale 1299s Insurance

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Nige, Nov 10, 2015.

  1. I had this trouble. Added it to my motor trade policy in the end for £460. Obviously that info doesn't help you.

My experience with MCE several years ago was always positive. Had a GSXR 750 stolen outside my house and they paid me up within 1 month. Was really pleased.

I always get quotes from thebikeinsurer.co.uk

They always come up with good prices, for normal bikes anyway. The panigale doesn't fit the 'normal' category with insurance companies it seems.

  2. I use Entire cover. Half the price of Ducati insurance for me and no silly excesses. I paid about 600 for this year.

  3. mine is less than that from Ducati for four bikes so it clearly depends on many other factors

  4. 1299s new. Ducati quoted me in excess of 1500 plus silly excesses.

  5. Quoted £700 on the 1299. Am paying £250 on the 899.

  6. £500 for mine with Ducati Insurance. 32 YO, 9 Year NCB, 1299s costing/insured for £24.5k

  7. Interesting... Just tried Entire and they declined, based solely on the make, model and value (1299s, £20k)

  8. Do you know who you spoke to? I dealt with Adam. I did have give photographic evidence of brick built garage and all security etc.

  9. With all these decent sounding quotes from Ducati I did the online quote form... £1,730 for an 899!!:eek: WTF?

In a good postcode, kept locked in a garage, 30 years old and with 3 years NCB. Mental. I'm sure that it would come down a bit if I phoned them but why even bother if that's the initial quote? Currently paying under £500 with MCE for comparison...

  10. OK - Nash were hard work, really hard work and came in at £511 but would not insure me to ride other bikes, so I said, No. They rang back an hour later and said it was now included and so it went on, to the detriment of the whole experience in the end I was not sure what I was covered for. + Nash ring you 3 times a day trying to push the sale, you want a day to think and they want to know why you need time to think. In the end I fecked them off at the high port and took £559 with Ducati. Tacker, data tagged, garage, nice area, 50 and full NCB. OK a 50 notes more, but a far better company to deal with.

  11. Ducati insurance wouldn't quote me.

Age 34, max NCB and a good postcode, garage and tracker.

  12. At least I'm not the only one having a less positive experience with them... Was it just an online quote you did? I noticed if I put any mods in the 'other' box it wouldn't spit out a quote. [emoji51]

  13. Yes online. Useless.

To be honest all the manufacturers offer their own insurance and I've never found it competitive. Not quite sure who they are targeting but it certainly isn't full NCB 34 year olds from Essex.

  14. Yeah, I tried Audi insurance with the last car I bought and it was the same! They talk a good game but then, for me, never deliver with anything even remotely competitive!

  15. I have had the opposite experience with Ducati Insurance, i have a multi bike policy and they are by far the most competitive. The only issue that i had, was that they insisted on a tracker and £1000 excess on 1299S.
Probably the only advantage, off getting on a bit.

  16. I second this. Ducati insurance are brilliant to deal with - small team and very friendly. They offer 25% discount for BikeTrac too.

  17. "Paginale" eh? That must be the version for bookworms.

  18. MCE, don't get me started. Quoted me on the Friday, i purchased the bike saturday, called them and they wanted double. I will never ever ever darken their door again.
Much better with another insurer as you have Nige.

  19. They've 'lost' my quotes countless times!

  20. Yeah, I printed the quote out with the reference number, rang to pay the following day as it had disappeared from the online site and they had no record of it and quoted me double. I was fekin fuming.
As said, I would never deal with the clowns again EVER.

See, you have set me off again now. :rage:
