Paint job

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Chippy, Sep 8, 2013.

  1. Imagine it would be quality and layers of paint. Race bike needs to look great from 10' a road from 10"

  2. As Bradders says - race is less layers and no/minimal lacquer.

  3. paid 900 for mine at the guys doing Alstare... includes all fairings (F+R+L+R) and tank ...

    2x now .... :(

  4. Well......no news on the paint job yet. Spent the morning with the tools out and this is as far as it's got at the moment

Hopefully should be able to get everything posted Tuesday........then probably a a month or so before I get it all back.

(Honda Super Blackbird in the background is my brother's, who has lent it to me whilst the duke is off the road. It's massive and heavy - I can just about get it off the sidestand PMSL)

  5. Great picture that......looks like someone knicked the frame..

Cant wait to see the finished article.

  6. it'll be out of date by the time you get it done....why not wait to see what design they come up with for next season and then either get the new design done if you prefer it or this one if you don't.

  7. Bit restricted on time. It's a long story, but now is the perfect time for me to get it done. I'm not fussed about it being current or not. I actually really like the current scheme, rather than wanting it to necessarily being the "latest". Equally I might wait for 4-5 months and totally hate the newer paint scheme.

Even if they change it, the new one would still be out of date in another 12 months anyway. Same goes for having No.7 on it. Checa is out for the rest of 2013 and may not be back for 2014!

As Catherine Tate would say "Face, bothered"

  8. Makes me wanna strip mine down n clean it. :)

  9. Well not much to report at the moment. Started to have a few progress pics through from Mike, and it's all good so far!

They're a bit confusing because it's still at the masking and paint stage, but everything masked here remains red and everything red will be white......if that makes sense

And then with the white painted

  12. woop woop.....!!

When you reckon it will be back together?

  13. I'm thinking a few days to get the sponsors done, a couple of days for lacquer, so should be ready to ship this time next week, maybe. Then a week or so to get to Jersey, so the end of the month. Trouble is, I'm away for a week on hols, so probably be at least 9th November

  14. You gotta step up to the plate and do the right thing here......

    Postpone your vacation

  15. I think the Mrs would probably castrate me with a rusty butter knife
