Hi Justin I am5ft 8 with 30 inside leg on my first multi I had a mra vario screen plus wingless from oz can't find any for the dvt though. Whilst in the car park at ducati Aylesbury I noticed a BMW xr with a touratech screen set up that had got wingless as well but touratech don't do much for ducati I am going to take screen off and go for a ride Then maybe a small screen I have an old one I could cut down Hope someone comes up with a solution
OK - useful to know. I think I'll put the winglets at the bottom of the list of things to try. Seems that the standard screen doesn't work for most but no clear opinion on whether the best option is to go smaller or taller. I do like the look of the small Ducati carbon screen, but 250 sobs is a lot to pay.
Cut down and sand an original, then carbon wrap it. Many have and the results can look pretty pro (although not something I’d try as I’ve got cack skills for fine detail)
I just bought the Givi screen and it seems allrght on the motorway in fully down and fully up positions . Only tried for 20 miles so far . There is less noise and much less buffeting , but there is still noise so it doesn't eliminate all the problems . I'm happy with it and will stick with it ,but will try a Palmer if one comes up here or on Ebay .
My PP small carbon screen is on the For sale thread if you’re interested? Perfect condition and I have the Palmer Products adaptor for sale as well. I’m 6’4 tall and found this combination perfect for me. Used it to go touring in Spain & France last year. Pm me if interested
Apologies for digging up an old thread but I’m putting some thought into the palmer products adjuster for my 2014 1200GT. How have peoples long term experience with it been? Is there a better alternative?
I had one on a 1260s, I felt it definitely improved the set up, I also used an MRA screen with the extra deflector again was an improvement. Noise and buffeting were greatly reduced for me, but it is a very individual thing as everybody is a different height, rides, sits differently etc. Can be quite a bit of trial and error, I bought various second hand screens off eBay to find one I liked before paying full price on a new one.
An update: I went ahead and bought the Palmer Products adjuster and have now done six motorway journeys of at least 50 miles with it (probably about 400 miles in total). I’ve found that the best position for me (using the OEM touring screen), is the lowest and flattest angle. The air hitting my helmet is clean, noise and buffeting are greatly reduced. I tried other positions too, but anything apart from that - making the angle steeper, raising it etc just bought the buffeting back, and even worse than before! I’m happy with the adjuster and I’m glad I got it. I may experiment with screens a little further, I like the look of the MRA touring screen as it looks better than the one I have now and it doesn’t seem to be quite as big. I’ll report back if I do. thanks for everyone’s advice!
