Pass on that.... 2 of my friends teach tkd. One has broken both of his legs at different times in competitions.... The other one is usually bruised in some shape way or form. Doesn't sound like fun... Another guy at work teaches wing Chun (I think that's what it's called) and got his head caved in down town.... Which as my friend said (one of the tkd trainers).... No matter how much you know you'll always have your work cut out with a seasoned brawler.... Can't see the enjoyment in possibly putting someone in hospital...
Trust me muay thai works on the street especially and I started out in tkd.I enjoyed putting a few street brawlers in hospital when I worked the doors for best part of ten yrs. They have no defense,no timing or conditioning or power as there striking is shite.Like taking candy off a baby after yrs of muay thai training. Yeah I deffo got more injuries in Trojan Gym fighters class than on the street. In fact there fighters class made the real fighting in the ring seem easy. TKD competitions can be a right bastard on the knee joints and one of the female champions completely ripped her achilies tendon. Not nice. But they hey this is martial arts not badmington lol.
Ask your TKD instructors if they have ever heard of Paul Donnelly if they are with TAGB association. My old instructor and that guy can kick like a mule. As a martial artist I always try to avoid trouble as it usualy ends up with me in court trying to explain to a judge it was self defense lol.Only working the doors did I have to deal with pure scum that would cut your throat with a broken bottle given half the chance. Glad I got out as more guns being used now and my good friend was shot a point blank range not long after I left.
I don't think I will. While I can appreciate what goes into it, it doesn't really interest me. The bruised one is still teaching the other gave it up.... I think he goes running all the time.... TAGB pardon the pun rings a bell though....
You will never meet a nicer bunch of folks than at a good muay thai gym. There is non of that macho bullshit that people expect. We had everything from a social worker, bank workers, brickies to policeman training at Trojan Gym.All had one thing in common of being mentaly tough and resiliant. The macho types would soon leave when they got there ass handed to them. Give it a try as you will be amazed at what the body is capable of with the right training and fitness is on another level. By the way i hope that Pani owners is ok.We have all been there or very close to that happening.
a mate of mine joined a fight club after a junky incident in Edinburgh, sounds mad all these dudes go in to a room and just start beating the fuck out out of each other, throwing tables and chairs and shit. mad.
If proof were ever needed that cyclists can ever be a menace on the roads Amateur cyclist's celebrations that were his downfall - Telegraph
he's not a menace on the road - he got off the road...... he's a danger to the masses of innocent wildlife that live in the verges and hedgerows...... mices's and voles's of the world unite...
Horses are not as wide as two/three cyclists abreast and they're not as wobbly and are more predictable
