Thanks for all the input guys.You are all deffo right saying keep the 1098R. I know I would be gutted if I parted with her! Looks like a keeper :smile:

Tone keep the R it's a lovely bike. If you had a 'normal' 1098 or 1198 then yes I could see where you'd be coming from in thinking of changing your ride.

Interesting thread,I am having similar thoughts on selling my 996 SPS and going for either a Panigle or 1098R! Very difficult decision to make ...........

I had this choice when the Pani came out after I sold my 999R. I went for the 1098R and I'm glad I did. I think the Pani looks ace and the game moves on but I love my 1098R. As previously stated its the last in line of the trellis/clutch type. Perhaps a future classsic.
And by christ, it goes like fuck!! Its been well breathed on mind you, 70mm termi's, ecu, race cam kit and 60mm bell mouths. I just wish I could wring its neck and stop riding like a fanny on track.... Its got unbelievable shove out of corners. Scary shove... See y'aal (some) on the 28th. Fingers crossed for sunshine.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Pani, but if it was a choice between that or my 1098R Bayliss, it would be the Bayliss.
