The wheels seem incorrect for an R - the S and R both have the same forged wheels, but the R wheels shouldn’t have the red rim tape on them.
He liked Akrapovic alright. I still haven't taken the decals off, but then again I've ony had the bike 8 months. * * I actually quite like them.
My gen 2 R is on PCP. I didn't want to send it back at the end of term but a massive tax bill and cost of racing means I can't realistically keep it. Phillip island was supposed to be it's last run out but its blown up the clutch basket in spectacular fashion at 170mph. Fingers crossed there's no further damage, it could have been a lot worse if it dropped the oil on the rear tyre but luckily it stayed in until I got off track. Anyone want one - one careful owner; never raced
Yes its a Gen 2 - 2015. I bought my BMW and didn't like it before the slick chip was installed at the first service so had intended to trade it in for the R. By the time I'd sorted the R out the BMW was unleashed with the chip and didn't want to get rid so I ended up doing the PCP and keeping both!
Just before Christmas I got offered a 2014 4k mile 1199R for £18500. Not sure what constitutes a mk1 or 2 but that maybe looks like a bargain?!
That will be a Gen 1. The Gen 2 came out with the 1299 at the end of 2014 - 2015. There's quite a difference in the bikes.
